Ranked: Director David Fincher
Indisputably, David Fincher is one of the greatest directors. He's a Generation X icon that made his mark with unconventional, hair-raising grippers. Every person I got to the watch 'The Game' was amazed. 'Seven' is a serial killer movie that buries itself deep within you despite the killings not being shown. 'Fight Club', my favourite, is a cultural landmark, an icon for the dissatisfied working class. Refusing to be stereotyped by thrill-seeking fans, Fincher's handling of the drama genre is as adept. 'The Curious Case' of Benjamin Button' contemplates death whilst somehow being heart-warming. 'The Social Network' is medicine for Millennials. The glorious acting and cinematography of 'Mank', the 1930s biopic, is sadly underappreciated by the masses but art critics applaud. This is a movie and not a television list but Fincher's television work, 'Mind Hunter' and 'House of Cards', are loved. 'Bad Travellers' his episode for the animation series 'Love, Death & Robots' was wonderfully creepy. If you can't stand waiting for Fincher's next movie, then checkout Korean director, Chan-wook Park ('Lady Vengeance', 'Oldboy', 'The Handmaiden' and 'Decision to Leave').
