Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu is set for its highly-anticipated release on December 25, 2024. The movie promises to breathe new life into the 1922 German silent film classic. Bill Skarsgard takes on the iconic role of Count Orlok, with a Star-studded cast that includes Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, Emma Corrin, Willem Dafoe, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Immersive Transformation for Skarsgard Transforming into Count Orlok was no small feat for Bill Skarsgård. The actor dedicated up to six hours each day for makeup and prosthetics. Speaking about his experience, he revealed: It was like conjuring pure evil. It took a while for me...

“I’ve been to Cannes with films that won the Palme D’or; others have done quite well, and some have really not done well. I know the A to Z of Cannes emotions — but it’s always such a pleasure to be there. And it’s very important to this art form that we all love.”
Important words from Kinds of Kindness star Willem Dafoe about how it really feels to attend the world’s most iconic film festival as a veteran who has fielded varying levels of kindness from the Cannes crowd over the years — not to mention differing durations of those much buzzed-about standing ovations.
As the 77th edition comes to a close, emotions were high and the love for the art form seemed stronger than ever as auteurs, stars, glitterati and industry insiders converged in the South of France for nearly two weeks of cinematic adventures...

Searchlight Pictures dropped a full-length trailer for Kinds of Kindness Wednesday, and as is to be expected from a Yorgos Lanthimos project at this point, the film looks funny, unsettling, and above all else, strange.
Soundtracked to the Eurythmics’ “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This),” much like the teaser from earlier this year, the new clip doesn’t give much away for what the movie’s actually about, but it does set the table for the uncomfortable vibes that Lanthimos will likely serve up in his “triptych fable.”

Several months ago, we got our first look at the “crazy vampire hunter” character Willem Dafoe plays in The Witch, The Lighthouse, and The Northman writer/director Robert Eggers‘ remake of F.W. Murnau’s 1922 silent classic Nosferatu (watch it Here) – but we still haven’t gotten a good look at the title character, who is brought to life this time around by Bill Skarsgard (It). It would probably be for the best if we don’t see Skarsgard’s Count Orlok until the film reaches theatres on Wednesday, December 25th – but during a new interview with Esquire, the actor did discuss the process of playing the character, which he said was like conjuring pure evil.
During his conversation with Esquire, Skarsgard revealed that, during the Nosferatu production, he had to spend three to six hours every day getting the makeup and prosthetics put on so he could become Count Orlok.

Bill Skarsgård truly channeled the undead for Robert Eggers’ upcoming vampire feature “Nosferatu.”
In an interview with Esquire, Skarsgård says that he “conjured” an alter-ego to play villain Count Orlok who is (literally) dead set on seducing the soul of Ellen Hutter (Lily-Rose Depp).
“It took its toll,” Skarsgård said of the role. “It was like conjuring pure evil. It took a while for me to shake off the demon that had been conjured inside of me.”
Writer/director Eggers recalled to Esquire that Skarsgård was “on a different level” when it came to leaning into the occult aspects of the story.
“I remember early on, him trying to talk to me about what it meant to be a dead sorcerer — and I’m into some pretty heavy occult shit, but he was on a different level,” Eggers said. “I was like, ‘This sounds accurate, but I don’t know...

Just a few months after his eccentric alt-history sci-fi movie "Poor Things" swept the Oscars with four wins (including a Best Actress award for lead Emma Stone), director Yorgos Lanthimos is back with a new film. "Kinds of Kindness" once again stars Stone, alongside her fellow "Poor Things" performers Margaret Qualley and Willem Dafoe. And the talent doesn't stop there, with Jesse Plemons ("Breaking Bad"), Hong Chau ("The Whale"), Joe Alwyn ("The Favourite"), Mamoudou Athie ("Archive 81"), and Hunter Schafer ("Euphoria") also in the mix.
Lanthimos will really be getting the most out of that stellar cast by having each actor in three different roles. "We had started out with one story, but as we were working on it, we thought that it might be interesting to make a film that has a different structure to what we had done before," Lanthimos explains in the press notes, referring to himself and...

"Open your eyes, and look clearly at what's going on around you..." Searchlight Pictures has just unveiled another official trailer for Kinds of Kindness, the brand new Yorgos Lanthimos film arriving this summer to watch. It just premiered at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival a few weeks ago, where Jesse Plemons won the Best Actor award at the end of the fest (here's our review). This triptych film features three medium-length stories in one long feature (that runs almost 3 hours in total). As his follow-up to the Oscar-winning Poor Things, Kinds of Kindness is described as an anthology film with three segments - following a man without choice who tries to take control of his own life; a policeman who is alarmed that his wife who was missing-at-sea has returned; and a woman determined to find a specific someone with a special ability. The exquisite ensemble cast in this: Emma Stone,...

Starring Cannes Best Actor winner Jesse Plemons, alongside Emma Stone, Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, Hong Chau, Joe Alwyn, Mamoudou Athie, and Hunter Schafer, Searchlight Pictures has now dropped a new trailer ahead of the June 21 release.

The trailer for Yorgos Lanthimos’ new film has arrived. The filmmaker has already followed up his Poor Things run with Kinds of Kindness, which reunites him with the Academy Award-winning star of his last film, Emma Stone, as well as her Poor Things co-star, Willem Dafoe. The new trailer from Searchlight Pictures displays the chaotic nature of the film, with all the clips feeling non-sequitur. And with Sweet Dreams providing the soundtrack for the trailer, it certainly hammers home the dream-like feeling of this abstract movie.

Tom Holland’s Spider-Man movie series is expanding with another installment after the grand success of the third movie Spider-Man: No Way Home, it was the ultimate treat for Marvel fans. Now, the upcoming Spider-Man movie, as speculation dictates, is going to be more grounded with a bit of multiversal touch.
Tom Holland stars as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in Columbia Pictures’ Spider-man: No Way Home.
If not multiversal, Spider-Man might go to its classic root, to its classic villains— Norman and Harry Osborn. New speculation recently suggested that fans could see Dune star Timothée Chalamet making his Spider-Man debut playing a villainous Harry Osborn and in this case, Kevin Feige might hire one MCU star again, this time for the role of Norman Osborn.

Image Source: Amazon Movie enthusiasts, fasten your seatbelts and get ready to go into a cinematic from 1984 called Streets of Fire. This isn’t your average action movie or Broadway musical—rather, it’s a fantastic mashup of the two, all encased in a neon-drenched shell of pure 80s crazy. Seriously, this movie is one-of-a-kind. Picture it: a city that looks like a jukebox exploded, where brooding hero Tom Cody (Michael Paré) must rescue his rockstar ex-girlfriend (Diane Lane) from a leather-clad biker gang led by the devilishly charming Willem Dafoe. Oh, and did we mention Rick Moranis is the hilariously awkward manager caught in the middle of this whole mess? It’s basically the 80s dream team, and director Walter Hill (the director 48 Hours) was clearly having a blast throwing every genre into the blender. Critics Hated It? We Don’t Care! Yeah, the critics weren’t exactly thrilled with this one.

When Marvel Studios teamed with Sony Pictures and agreed to share Spider-Man, the decision was quickly made to focus on villains the web-slinger hadn't faced on screen before.
Spider-Man: Homecoming featured Shocker and The Vulture and even set the stage for Scorpion's eventual debut by introducing Mac Gargan. Spider-Man: Far From Home shifted focus to Mysterio, only for Spider-Man: No Way Home to pit Tom Holland's Peter Parker against the baddies from previous Spider-Man movies.
The MCU hero battled Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Electro, Sandman, and The Lizard; however, as exciting as that was for fans, it seemingly closed the door on new versions of those baddies appearing on Earth-616.
Heck, Willem Dafoe's Norman Osborn even confirmed his Variant doesn't exist on that world!
Now, though, scooper Alex Perez claims Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus "will be, if not, the final villains Holland’s Spider-Man faces when...

There aren’t many movies like Cry Baby, just like there aren’t many directors and writers like John Waters. Both are unique and unlike anything that has come before or since.
Cry Baby hit screens at the beginning of a new decade, 1990, and celebrated a time many decades prior. It was skewering of teenage delinquent movies of the 50s with a healthy dose of weird, transgressive and musical theater. The overly dramatic time of a teenager and how rebel films of the 50s took that angst and upped to off the charts.
John Waters grew up with those films, and Cry Baby was his unique and amazing spin on that genre. Cry Baby tells the story of Wade “Cry Baby” Walker and his bizarre family and gang of Drapes. These are the weirdos and outcasts of Baltimore, the ones Waters himself would identify more with than the Squares of the story.

Warner Bros. unveiled the first full trailer for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice this past Thursday, and it gave us a much better idea of what to expect from Tim Burton's long-awaited sequel.
The teaser begins with Lydia Deetz (Winona Ryder) returning to Winter River with her mother Delia (Catherine O'Hara) and daughter Astrid (Jenna Ortega) for her father's funeral (confirming reports that Jeffrey Jones' Charles Deetz has been killed off), when memories of her encounter with lecherous demon Betelgeuse (Michael Keaton) resurface.
Lydia explains what happened all those years ago to Astrid, who proceeds to say the Ghost with the Most's name three times, summoning him back to the land of the living.
The trailer features our first look at Betelgeuse's ex-wife Delores (Monica Bellucci), and one quick shot reveals that she is missing a finger. This is almost certainly a call-back to an infamous scene from the original movie, which...

The Sci-Fi genre consists of some of the most inventive and life-changing films because by the very definition of the word the creators have to invent a fictional future or technology and while some of the films in this genre give us spectacle others give us a story that makes us think about the future and how our world is changing for better or for worse. So, today we thought of listing the best new sci-fi films you can watch at home right now and in this list, we didn’t include any film released before 2023.

The prequel film we have all been waiting for is finally here and I am really happy to say that it is as brilliant and bombastic as the original film. Obviously, we are talking about Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, the prequel to George Miller‘s 2015 Mad Max: Fury Road. Directed by Miller from a screenplay by Nico Lathouris and Miller, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga follows the story of a young Furiosa as she is taken from Green Place of Many Mothers and tries to survive in the wasteland while trying to get back home but the war between great biker horde’s warlord Dementus and Immortan Joe makes it harder. Replacing Charlize Theron from Fury Road, Anya Taylor-Joy takes over the role of Furiosa in the prequel film and it also stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Burke, Lachy Hulme, John Howard, Angus Sampson, and Nathan Jones. After two weeks of nonstop cinema, the moment of truth finally arrived. The winners of the 77th Cannes Film Festival were announced at a gala ceremony on Saturday night.
The Palme d’Or, the fest’s top honor, went to Sean Baker’s sex worker screwball comedy Anora. A nervous and shaking Baker took the stage and thanked the jury, saying he still “couldn’t believe it.” Baker said winning Cannes’ top prize has been “my singular goal as a filmmaker for the past 30 years.”
Baker also singled out Francis Ford Coppola and David Cronenberg, two veteran directors with films in Cannes competition this year, as major inspirations. Baker has come far, going from shooting his 2015 feature Tangerine on an iPhone5s to winning the Palme d’Or. He is the first American director to win the Palme since Terrence Malick for The Tree of Life in 2011.

The Cannes Film Festival is nearing its conclusion, with plenty of films making a splash on the starry Croisette on the French Riviera. However, one studio executive tells Variety, “There aren’t many Oscar-buzzy titles to be excited about, not even in the international feature space.”
This year’s main competition jury, led by president Greta Gerwig and including J.A. Bayona, Ebru Ceylan, Pierfrancesco Favino, Lily Gladstone, Eva Green, Hirokazu Kore-eda, Nadine Labaki and Omar Sy, will name its winners on Saturday.
It was looking like a foregone conclusion that the Palme d’Or win would be bestowed upon Jacques Audiard’s Spanish-language musical “Emilia Pérez,” starring Zoe Saldaña, Selena Gomez, and Karla Sofía Gascón, which was picked up by Netflix. However, on Friday, Mohammad Rasoulof’s “The Seed of the Sacred Fig” garnered the most enthusiastic reactions on social media from attendees and the longest-standing ovation at 12 minutes. Winona and Jenna, together at last.
On Thursday, Warner Bros. released the full trailer for Tim Burton’s “Beetlejuice 2” – officially known as “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” – giving fans their first look at Gen X’s goth teen icon Winona Ryder and Gen Z’s goth teen icon Jenna Ortega on screen together in the sequel to the 1988 horror comedy.
The new trailer brings back the trailercore version of “Day-o (The Banana Boat Song)” from first teaser, plus better looks at Ryder as now-adult goth Lydia Deetz, Ortega as her daughter Astrid, and, of course, Michael Keaton as Tex Avery-esque demon Betelgeuse.
The trailer introduces the plot of “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” in which Lydia returns to Connecticut for her father’s funeral. She tells her daughter the story of how she once summoned a demon who wanted to marry her and created chaos in her and her family’s life for a while.

It's showtime!
Warner Bros. has unveiled the first full trailer for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, and it gives us a much better idea of what to expect from Tim Burton's long-awaited sequel.
The footage begins with Lydia Deetz (Winona Ryder) returning to Winter River with her mother Delia (Catherine O'Hara) and daughter Astrid (Jenna Ortega) for her father's funeral (confirming reports that Jeffrey Jones' Charles Deetz has been killed off), when memories of her encounter with lecherous demon Betelgeuse (Michael Keaton) resurface.
Lydia explains what happened all those years ago to Astrid, who proceeds to say the Ghost with the Most's name three times, summoning the Bio-Exorcist back to the land of the living.
The previous teaser suggested that Betelgeuse might be seeking revenge, but it looks like he'll be putting his differences with Lydia aside in an effort to rescue Astrid.
Who takes Lydia's daughter and why is not clear,...

Hey, did one of you say Beetlejuice three times? Because the new trailer for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice just dropped, and- wait a second, we just said Beetlejuice three times. Four, now! Either way, it’s worked – Tim Burton’s long-awaited sequel is finally arriving later this year, and a brand new trailer not only gets the whole gang back together (Michael Keaton! Winona Ryder! Catherine O’Hara!), but gives us our best look yet at the newcomers too (Jenna Ortega! Monica Bellucci! Willem Dafoe! Justin Theroux!). All that, and it’s packed with visuals that hark back to Burton’s beloved original film, including stop-motion-styled effects and puppetry. It looks like one hell of a party:
The bio-exorcist is well and truly back – and for all the intervening decades, Michael Keaton looks to be fitting back into the Beetlejuice stripes with ease. It’s a joy, too, to see Ryder returning as...

Burton considered having Daniel Waters rewrite that script, Pamela Norris did rewrite it, and Warner Bros. offered Kevin Smith the chance to do another rewrite. He turned it down. Seth Grahame-Smith was hired to write and produce a new version of a sequel in 2011. Mike Vukadinovich was brought on to rewrite his script in 2017.

You've waited an eternity for this... Warner Bros has revealed the full official trailer for the legacy sequel titled Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (originally known as Beetlejuice 2), reuniting mastermind filmmaker Tim Burton with actor Michael Keaton for a long-awaited follow-up 36 (!!) years later. Who's ready for some creepy chaos again? The first Beetlejuice movie opened in 1988 (right before Burton's Batman in 1989) and ended up as a modest success and cult favorite. The sequel continues the story with the very same family. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia's life is turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid, discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic and the portal to the Afterlife is accidentally opened. Michael Keaton returns as this miscreant Betelgeuse again, along with Winona Ryder back as Lydia, plus Jenna Ortega as Astrid, Catherine O'Hara, Monica Bellucci, Justin Theroux, Arthur Conti, Burn Gorman, and Filipe Cates; plus Willem Dafoe...

Almost 40 years after the original classic arrived in theaters, Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is on the way, and Warner Bros. has debuted the brand new trailer today.
We had been promised that the upcoming sequel would be relying on old school handcrafted effects as much as possible, and this latest trailer makes it clear that Burton is most definitely getting back to his roots with Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. Everything on display here feels like classic Beetlejuice, with Burton employing practical effects and stop motion techniques.
This trailer also gives us a first look at the new characters played by Willem Dafoe and Monica Belluci, while giving us more of Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, and Jenna Ortega.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice haunts theaters on September 6, 2024.
Here’s the official plot synopsis: “After an unexpected family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia’s...

Are moviegoers really clamoring for more of the ghost with the most? Tim Burton and Warner Bros. certainly think so. After dropping a disappointingly tepid teaser trailer last March, the Goth King of Hollywood (who probably single-handedly kept the ubiquitous shopping mall mainstay Hot Topic in business) has just unleashed a full theatrical trailer that, hopefully, whets fans' appetite for another ghoulish, antic-filled adventure headlined by the always game Michael Keaton.
For those of us who came of age during Burton's bizarro Hollywood auteur era (which kicked off with 1985's timeless classic "Pee Wee's Big Adventure), we're hoping one of the most visually distinct filmmakers in the history of the medium has rediscovered his macabre mojo. "Beetlejuice" (which he once described as his anti-Spielberg film), "Edward Scissorhands," and his two Batman movies looked completely unlike any other studio productions. They played like live-action Charles Addams illustrations -- yes,...
