Seinfeld actor Michael Richards has revealed that a former co-star nearly quit the hit show after failing to appear in an episode in Season 3.
Richards, who played Kramer in the NBC comedy, has written a memoir, in which he recounts that neither he nor Jason Alexander (who played George Costanza) were required for an episode titled ‘The Pen.’
Page Six quotes an excerpt from Richards’ book, where he writes that while he took his own absence with equanimity, Alexander was more miffed.
“Jason threatens to quit after learning that he’s also not in the episode. He’s furious,” Richards wrote in his memoir, adding that he sympathised with his fellow actor.
“Jason came onto the show with the most confidence of anyone. He had won a Tony Award on the New York stage, not an insignificant achievement, and until the table read for ‘The Pen’ he has assumed that Seinfeld is a buddy show,...

Though Julia-Louis Dreyfus didn’t make an appearance in the final Curb Your Enthusiasm episode that called back to the Seinfeld series finale, she’s a fan of how Larry David wrapped up his follow-up series.
“I loved it,” she told The Hollywood Reporter of last month’s Curb ending. “I loved everything about it.”
Curb‘s 12th and final season finished with a cameo from Jerry Seinfeld in which he and star-creator David, both playing fictional versions of themselves, reference the famously divisive Seinfeld end. After Larry is convicted of violating Georgia’s Election Integrity Act, he’s sentenced to a year in prison. But Jerry intervenes.
He discovers that one of the trial’s jurors broke the sequestering rule, causing a mistrial to be declared and Larry to walk free.
“Larry,” Jerry says, “is a free man!”
He adds, winking to the poor reception to the Seinfeld finale:...

Behind the Scenes of a Legendary TV Moment One of the most iconic scenes in television history from Seinfeld’s ‘The Marine Biologist’ episode was a product of serendipity and sheer talent. The scene, where George Costanza, played by Jason Alexander, admits that a golf ball he ‘found’ had been lodged in a whale’s blowhole, was almost never scripted. Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David concocted this twist merely hours before the shoot. We hand Jason, who’s an effing genius, that speech. How long is that speech? It’s a page, two pages. This is TV, Ok?…Memorize it., Seinfeld explained in an interview,

The beloved golf ball reveal of Seinfeld‘s “Marine Biologist” episode almost never happened. Jerry Seinfeld revealed this week he and Larry David wrote the scene just hours before filming it, and actor Jason Alexander only had minutes to memorize the script.
“I don’t know the schedule that week, but let’s say we’re shooting it on Wednesday. It’s Tuesday,” Seinfeld said during an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show. “We don’t have the golf ball goes into the blowhole of the whale. We don’t have it — it was never in the script.”
In Seinfeld season 5, episode 14 (“The Marine Biologist”), Alexander’s George Costanza delivers an impressively long monologue about trying to impress a woman, in which he eventually reveals that Kramer’s (Michael Richards) golf ball got stuck in a whale’s blowhole. Famously, the speech begins with the line, “The sea was angry that day my friends.

"Seinfeld" could be an incredibly mean show. For peak cruelty, it's hard to top "The Invitations" in which George's fiancée Susan drops dead after licking too many envelopes. The finale is self-consciously nasty in the way it indicts viewers for having been emotionally invested in the lives of these relentlessly awful people for nine seasons. My favorite might be "The Yada Yada," where Jerry is called out as an "anti-dentite" for his dim view of dentists. But the series, created by Seinfeld and Larry David, knew how to go dark without alienating its audience — which is why they scrapped a Season 2 episode called "The Bet."
Unless you're a "Seinfeld" superfan, you might not know of this episode. If you are a "Seinfeld" superfan, you know "The Bet" quite well and have surely read the script that got leaked to the "Lost Media" subreddit earlier this month. It's been something of...

Seinfeld has continued to live on after its 1998 series finale through syndication, maintaining its popularity. But decades after its end, some fans have been speculating about a possible Seinfeld reunion episode.
The comic and writer himself, Jerry Seinfeld, came close to making this a reality.

Back in the 2000s, Seinfeld was actually in the midst of penning a reunion special of his titular show. He was secretly working alongside many of his old cast members to make it happen. But the actors couldn’t finish the project in time, so it was scrapped indefinitely.
“I don’t think it can happen now. It would’ve had to happen because this [Seinfeld: The Complete Series) is the last DVD coming out, so now would’ve been the time to do it,” he once said according to Irish Examiner.
But there still might be hope that the Seinfeld cast might have some sort of TV reunion.

On July 5, 1989, “The Seinfeld Chronicles” premiered with a whimper on NBC. Created by Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David, it centered on the mundane life of a standup comedian and his eccentric friends. The self-proclaimed “show about nothing,” rebranded as “Seinfeld” when its remaining four first season episodes finally aired almost a year later in 1990, was championed by critics and ignored by audiences. Yet momentum continued to gain, and soon the series was dominating the ratings, collecting Emmys and entering the cultural lexicon with its popular catchphrases. Let’s take a look back at 30 of its greatest episodes, ranked worst to best.

A New O.J. Movie Stars the Controversial Charlotte Kirk (But Definitely Not Owen Wilson)
Hey, Hollywood, anybody interested in a partially finished film about how O.J. Simpson might have been innocent? One that stars Charlotte Kirk — the English actress best known for her previous role in taking down moguls Kevin Tsujihara and Ron Meyer in a 2019 sex scandal — as Nicole Brown Simpson? If yes, this is your lucky day. According to British director Joshua Newton, about 30 minutes of The Juice (originally titled Nicole and O.J.) is in the can, mostly flashback scenes featuring Kirk and German-born actor Boris Kodjoe, currently on ABC’s Station 19, who plays the late NFL star turned acquitted murderer. Newton, who has been working on this “satirical thriller” since 2015, says the picture’s main plotline involves a real-life attorney named Douglas McCann who got sucked into various conspiracy theories during Simpson’s 1995 criminal trial.

It’s pretty sad! HBO’s twelve-season run of Larry David’s Curb Your Enthusiasm has officially ended after 120 fairly well-executed episodes. It has become difficult to distinguish between the real Larry David and the TV character because the co-creator of Seinfeld has made a career out of playing an exaggerated version of himself.

[This story contains major spoilers from the series finale of Curb Your Enthusiasm, “No Lessons Learned.”]
And, that’s a wrap on Larry David’s Curb Your Enthusiasm.
The series finale of the Emmy-winning HBO improv comedy kicked off with a big circle back to how the final season began, with the ensemble heading to Atlanta to support Larry David (played by series creator-star David) in his trial.
For a refresher: Season 12 opened with Larry getting arrested for violating a 2021 voting law in Georgia when he gave Leon Black’s (Jb Smoove) Auntie Rae (played by Ellia English) a glass of water while she was waiting in line to vote. Larry didn’t know about the law, but he became a liberal hero anyway, with the likes of Stacey Abrams, Bruce Springsteen and Sienna Miller becoming his adoring new fans.

Curb Your Enthusiasm is gearing up for its grand farewell on April 7, and Larry David could end the show in the funniest way possible if the finale follows in the footsteps of another one of his series. Apart from being known for the HBO improvisational comedy, Larry David is best known for co-creating the NBC hit Seinfeld, which aired for nine seasons from 1989 to 1998. In that show’s divisive finale, Jerry (Jerry Seinfeld), Elaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), George (Jason Alexander), and Kramer (Michael Richards) end up in jail. Considering that Larry’s facing a trial for handing out water to individuals on voting lines in Georgia, he could very well end up in a similar position as his characters from Seinfeld, if he so chooses. Things aren’t looking good for fostering a strong public opinion in favor of his innocence after the penultimate episode, “Ken/Kendra,” which saw Larry become...

After a quarter century, HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm will conclude, once and for all, with its April 7 finale — and I’ve got a pret-tay, pret-tay, pret-tay good idea of how it’s all going to end for everyone’s favorite curmudgeon, Larry David.
In fact, I’d go so far as to say it’s the only way to bring this 12-season experiment in social indecency to a satisfactory close.

The Prank. Those delightful, seemingly harmless little tricks we play on others for a laugh. But tread carefully, for the line between playful jest and horrific disaster is perilously thin. These seven horror movies with pranks gone wrong take the concept of the lighthearted prank and twist it into something lethal. We’re talking about more than just whoopee cushions and fake spiders; these are pranks with consequences so severe they’re measured in screams, not giggles.
From high school gags that end in gorefests to sinister plots with deadly outcomes, each prank horror movie in this list shows how quickly the fun can turn fatal. So, prepare yourself for a rollercoaster of deceit and dread, where the next laugh might be your last, and the punchline is always death.

Jerry Seinfeld co-writes, directs and stars in Pop Tarts’ origin story, titled Unfrosted, here’s the trailer.
Jerry Seinfeld’s self-titled sitcom Seinfeld remains to this day one of the most successful, not to mention lucrative, sitcoms in television history. Seinfeld co-created the show with Larry David, and starred alongside Jason Alexander, Julia-Lois-Dreyfus and Michael Richards. It followed the trivial goings on in the life of the comedian and his friends.
The shadow of the self proclaimed ‘show about nothing’ still looms large over the American sitcom landscape, with David going on to create and star in Curb Your Enthusiasm. In season 7, David wrote a Seinfeld reunion story arc, culminating in footage from a new episode. The final episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm airs on Sky Atlantic next month.

Before the 2000s, Seinfeld stood at the top of TV shows, making its cast members incredibly wealthy and famous. Jerry Seinfeld was the first TV star to command a paycheck of $1 million per episode for the sitcom. The show still continues to fund the bank accounts of its cast members, including Seinfeld, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jason Alexander, and Michael Richards. A recent report suggested that Jerry Seinfeld has even joined the elite billionaire club.

The sitcom, created by Larry David and Seinfeld, ran for nine seasons from 1989 to 1998. The show about ‘nothing’ became a favorite among critics and topped the ratings chart for years. WGA voted the show as the second best-written TV series after The Sopranos.

Do you ever wonder what happens to movie props? Sometimes, filmmakers and actors will take them home as a souvenir. But more often than not, props end up back in a pile, destined to be re-used again. For instance: Egon's P.K.E. Meter from the original "Ghostbusters" pops up again in John Carpenter's "They Live," with no real explanation.
And then there's the curious case of George Costanza's glasses.
George is, of course, the famous character played by Jason Alexander on "Seinfeld," and the part is partially inspired by the show's co-creator, Larry David. Like David, George wears glasses, and when it came time to find his specs for the pilot episode of the show — originally titled "The Seinfeld Chronicles" — costume designer Ruth E. Carter pulled the frames from a surprising source: Spike Lee's "Malcolm X."

The actors from the current revival of Stephen Sondheim and George Furth’s “Merrily We Roll Along” have skyrocketed in Gold Derby’s combined odds for the 2024 Tony Awards nominations. The prediction center displays commanding leads for Jonathan Groff, Lindsay Mendez and Daniel Radcliffe to win their respective categories. This is an understandable result considering this revival is the hottest ticket in town and this trio of performers has been ever-present in the media. But how often does a trio of actors from the same production pull off three separate acting victories at the Tony Awards?
It’s quite common for a musical to grab two acting trophies, but three awards is much rarer. To date, only 15 musical productions have earned three acting wins. The first time this feat occurred was at the 1956 ceremony, which was ironically the first time the Tony Awards ever announced a slate of nominees (previously...

Could we be in store for a Seinfeld reboot? Jerry Seinfeld certainly teased that notion during a stand-up show: “Something is going to happen that has to do with that ending. It hasn’t happened yet. Just what you are thinking about, Larry and I have also been thinking about. So, you’ll see.” The world has been buzzing about the possibility of a Seinfeld revival ever since. It’s been over 30 years since the misadventures of Jerry, Elaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), George (Jason Alexander), and Kramer (Michael Richards) and Seinfeld is still considered one of the benchmarks of comedy. Given the fact...

Television as both a medium and as an industry has changed significantly in just the past couple of decades alone. The production of so-called prestige shows, with blockbusters like "Game of Thrones" earning feature-length budgets, have completely blurred the lines between TV and cinema -- and, what's more, an entire generation of fans have been raised to believe that this is simply how it's done. But once upon a time, even the most successful shows had to fight and scrap and claw for every inch they could take. That goes double for the ever-popular genre of crime procedurals, which were practically designed to last as many years as possible with the absolute least amount of resources.
Fox's hit series "Bones" was certainly no exception, spanning 12 total seasons and almost 250 overall episodes. But despite constant ratings performances, the show's production team routinely needed to find savvy, cost-cutting measures to wring the...

Every time I see Dick Van Dyke’s name in a headline lately, I fear the worst. But this week it meant a joyous celebration. In CBS’ new two-hour special “Dick Van Dyke: 98 Years of Magic,” the legendary actor — who throughout his career has won multiple Emmys, a Tony and a Grammy Award — was honored on his 98th birthday for his many contributions to the arts.
The tribute, which is now streaming on Paramount+, features special performances by Jason Alexander, Rufus Wainwright, Weird Al Yankovic, Rita Ora and Amber Riley, among others. Meanwhile, the guest list is just as long and just as impressive as Van Dyke’s career. Dame Julie Andrews, Mel Brooks, Rob Reiner, Carol Burnett, Ted Danson, Stanley Tucci and Lin-Manuel Miranda are just a few of the celebs who appear during the star-studded event. And to top it all off, there’s a holiday number too.

Norby Walters, a music agent who worked with Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Marvin Gaye, Kool & the Gang and Public Enemy before gaining renown in Hollywood for his annual “Night of 100 Stars” Oscar party and weekly poker game, has died. He was 91.

Not everyone knows this, but Jason Alexander and Robert Redford have a lot in common. They are both actors, for example. They have both won a lot of awards for acting, just none of the same awards. They were both born in the United States of America. They both directed the 1993 movie "Quiz Show." Oh, wait, no they didn't. That was just Redford, never mind.
Okay, so maybe Jason Alexander and Robert Redford don't have a whole lot in common. But there is one unusual bit of trivia that connects. They both played completely against type as the Grim Reaper in an excellent episode of "The Twilight Zone," and they both knocked it out of the park. Robert Redford played Death as an unexpectedly kind and angelic specter of death in the 1962 episode "Nothing in the Dark," and Jason Alexander played Death as an overwhelmingly depressed burnout who wants to...

After 12 seasons and a staggering 24 years on the air, Larry David’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm” will finally bid farewell. What began as a mock, behind-the-scenes look at a fictional David putting together a new comedy special blossomed into one of the most enduring and outrageous series of all time. Although neither David nor his character would want to be sentimental, to commemorate the announcement of its imminent series finale, revisit the dozens of awards nominations it received for its first 11 seasons.
Though he would likely never describe himself as an actor, David has a long list of nominations for his acclaimed, exaggerated performance as himself. The lovable curmudgeon earned six Emmy bids for Comedy Actor in 2003, 2004, 2006, 2010, 2012 and 2018. How many millions of records have you sold? If you're Jessica Simpson, that number is well over 20 million. If you're not Jessica Simpson — and you're not, like, Elton John or one of those guys from Aerosmith — that number is probably a heck of a lot less. At the turn of the century, thanks to hit singles like "I Wanna Love You Forever" and her reality TV series "Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica," Jessica Simpson was one of the most famous human beings in the entire world. And she's still really darned famous.
And like most singers who break into the popular zeitgeist, Simpson has also tried her hand at acting. Curb Your Enthusiasm has come to an end after twenty four years, writer and star Larry David has confirmed.
Of all the sitcoms in the history of television, few, if any, have come anywhere near the level of cringe inducing awkwardness seen in Larry David’s long running sitcom Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Playing a version of himself, David, forever deadpan and defiant, manages to break just about every social convention there is as he attempts to go about his life as a successful television writer. Starring alongside David were Jeff Garlin, Cheryl Hines, Susie Essman and J.B. Smoove.
Curb is also notable for its wide array of memorable guest turns, which have included Mel Brooks, Martin Scorsese, Ben Stiller, Christian Slater, Rosie O’Donnell, Michael J. Fox, Ricky Gervais, Lin-Manuel Miranda, F. Murray Abraham and David Schwimmer.

Prettay… prettay… prettay… sad.
“Curb Your Enthusiasm” is officially ending with Season 12, which premieres Feb. 4 at 10 p.m. on HBO and Max. The 10-episode season will conclude with a series finale on April 7.
You might be thinking: Isn’t every season of “Curb” potentially its last? While this is sorta true — the series has long operated with an open invitation from HBO and without a strict timeline — the cable network is, for the first time, definitively promoting the next batch of episodes as Larry David’s “final season.”
“As ‘Curb’ comes to an end, I will now have the opportunity to finally shed this ‘Larry David’ persona and become the person God intended me to be – the thoughtful, kind, caring, considerate human being I was until I got derailed by portraying this malignant character,” David said in a statement. “And so ‘Larry David,’ I bid you farewell. Your misanthropy will not be missed.

“As Curb comes to an end, I will now have the opportunity to finally shed this ‘Larry David’ persona and become the person God intended me to be – the thoughtful, kind, caring, considerate human being I was until I got derailed by portraying this malignant character,” said David. “And so ‘Larry David,’ I bid you farewell. Your misanthropy will not be missed. And for those of you who would like to get in touch with me, you can reach me at Doctors Without Borders.”
Season 12 will premiere on Sunday February 4 and the ten-part series will air its finale on April 7.

Julia Roberts has a confession – another confession. More than 25 years after its release, Roberts has said that My Best Friend’s Wedding is the one movie of hers that she wouldn’t mind revisiting. She even has a vague idea of what audiences could see.
Speaking with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live, Julia Roberts said the movie of hers that she would most likely deserve a follow-up was more than likely My Best Friend’s Wedding “because there’s so many people in it, and to see what they’re doing and how Kimmy and Michael’s marriage is going and…” In the movie, Julia Roberts’ Julianne hatches a plan to spoil the wedding of Michael (Dermont Mulroney) and Kimmy (the once-retired Cameron Diaz). This does not work out and Julianne ends the movie dancing with one of her other friends, played by Rupert Everett. While Roberts may not have...

Adam Bold, the self-made millionaire and majority owner of talent representation firm A3 Artists Agency, has been hit with a lawsuit from his partners accusing him of sexual misconduct and running the company into the ground.
In court papers filed Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, agency CEO Robert Atterman and president Brian Cho accused Bold of plunging the company into financial chaos with overspending, squeezing out leadership in a proposed sale of parts of A3 to rival agency Gersh, and developing a reputation as “office creep” and “sex pest” to nearly 200 employees.
“In an astonishing run of terror, Bold has squandered everything,” the filing reads. “A3 is in a state of chaos and dissolution as its agents jump off the sinking ship and flee to A3 competitors, or wait in shock and fear for the next shoe to drop.”

Disney’s reputation is notoriously squeaky clean.
The beloved company has provided family-friendly fun for decades, with live-action favorites and animated classics spanning back to the 1930s.
As a powerful force in the industry and one of Hollywood’s biggest studios, the company expanded its reach over the years with film distribution companies, like Touchstone Pictures, Miramax, Searchlight Pictures and Buena Vista Distribution.
The movies often featured more adult themes than one would expect from the company. Because they are published by subsidiaries, the titles are all only indirectly Disney-related – but they still fall under the major studio’s umbrella anyway.
Find out which R-rated movies reside within the Disney brand…
