Of all the various actors who've made their mark on the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Sebastian Stan might be the one who's chosen the most interesting career path upon stepping outside of the superhero limelight. Stan hasn't exactly shied away from some of the more challenging and, occasionally, downright controversial roles out there, arguably beginning this little streak of sorts with director Craig Gillespie's "I, Tonya" in 2017. He followed this up with a supporting turn in Karyn Kusama's brutal "Destroyer," the bizarre horror/comedy "Fresh" (let's just say that movie packs a bite), and, of course, his Emmy-nominated performance as Tommy Lee in "Pam & Tommy," the Pamela Anderson-centric Hulu miniseries that stirred up no headlines whatsoever.
Not content to rest on his laurels, Stan promptly went and attached himself to a role that likely gave his agent no shortage of heart palpitations: a movie about Donald Trump's rise to infamy.

The short, tragic life of Amy Winehouse has been chronicled in a documentary (Asif Kapadia’s Amy), numerous unofficial biographies, memoirs by her father (Amy, My Daughter), her mother (Loving Amy: A Mother’s Story), close friend Tyler James (My Amy: The Life We Shared), podcasts, and even graphic novels. And in the wake of shockingly successful biopics about Queen, Elton John, Mötley Crüe, Aretha Franklin, Elvis Presley, and Bob Marley, the only surprising thing about Sam Taylor-Johnson’s Back to Black, which stars Marisa Abela as Winehouse, is that...

The Jane Doe plaintiff who sued Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee last December with allegations he sexually assaulted her in a helicopter cockpit in 2003 filed a request to dismiss her lawsuit without prejudice Friday, meaning she’s asking to reserve her right to file the case again.
The decision followed a judge’s ruling last week that the woman’s decades-old allegations did not appear to qualify for revival under the law she cited in her complaint – The Sexual Abuse and Cover Up Accountability Act. The woman remains hopeful that...

Starring iconic Hollywood stars like Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, Men in Black has solidified its place as one of their most notable works. While Smith’s comedic prowess, honed through projects like The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and various comedy films, makes his role understandable, the same isn’t immediately evident for Jones.

Unlike his other notable roles, which usually don’t fall within the comedy or sci-fi genres, Jones’ portrayal of Agent K’s composed demeanor in even the most absurd scenarios undeniably induces smiles from audiences. And it could be credited to the filmmaker Barry Sonnenfeld’s approach to bringing out the comedic side of the Oscar-winning actor.

Exclusive: We can tell you that James Franco and Oscar winner Tommy Lee Jones are leading the action thriller The Razor’s Edge from producer Corey Large and filmmaker Demian Lichtenstein (3000 Miles to Graceland).
Red Sea Media is handling international sales and will debut the film for buyers at the upcoming Marche du Film in Cannes. Cameras roll June 25 in Georgia.
Lichenstein is helming off a screenplay he wrote with Vance Duplechin. After a mob hitman vows to leave his deadly past behind, he faces an impossible choice when his daughter is kidnapped and the woman he loves becomes a target of the syndicate. He is forced to undertake one final, perilous mission while being pursued by an assassin even more lethal.
Pic is executive produced by Kirk Shaw. BondIt Media Capital is financing with Matthew Helderman, Luke Taylor and Jordan Nott also executive producing.
“I’m excited that we have signed the superbly talented actors James, Suki and Tommy Lee to bring The Razor’s Edge to the big screen. They are perfectly suited to embody the protagonists in director Demian’s script,” said Large. “We cannot wait to begin filming this taut thriller next month with an assist from our seasoned executive producer Kirk,” he added.
“We’ve worked with Corey on over a dozen projects throughout the years and always appreciate his ability to get projects made in many different industry climates. We’re excited for another adventure here with Corey and his team,” commented Bond It Capital co-founder CEO Matthew Helderman.
Large is producing through his 308 Enterprises. His other feature production, Assassination directed by Rain Man Oscar winner Barry Levinson and starring Academy Award-winner Al Pacino and BAFTA winning Shia Labeouf is shooting this fall.
Franco was Oscar nominated for Best Actor for 127 Hours and is a 2x Golden Globe winner for James Dean, in which he played the title role, and took home Best Actor in Miniseries, and for The Disaster Artist which he won Best Actor Feature Comedy/Musical. He starred in Sony’s original Spider-Man trilogy from Sam Rami.
Oscar, Emmy, SAG, Golden Globe, and Palme d’Or winner Jones counts an Oscar and Golden Globe supporting actor win for The Fugitive and starred in Sony’s Men in Black trilogy. Jones won a Lead Actor Emmy for NBC’s The Executioners’ Song, and a Cannes Palme D’Or for Best Actor for Sony Pictures Classics’ The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada which he also directed. He also directed The Homesman which starred Hilary Swank.
Franco is represented by UTA and Anonymous Content, Jones is represented by CAA and Jacobson, Russell, Saltz, Nassim & De La Torre.

The past year saw a glut of biopics, and there are many more to come.
On the horizon are movies about Bob Dylan (A Complete Unknown with Timothee Chalamet), Michael Jackson (Michael with Jaafar Jackson), Shirley Chisolm (Shirley with Regina King), and many others.
Biographical pictures can be a vehicle to introduce a star from the past to the younger set, a la Elvis and then Priscilla. Or to bring a lesser-known historical figure like Oppenheimer to the forefront of our consciousness.
Other times, rather than being educational, a biopic can sensationalize a tragedy or scandal, which could leave a bad taste in the mouths of fans. This was the case with the Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson miniseries.
Biopics are not a new genre for Hollywood. They are part of the ebb and flow of popularity. The vehicle is always around, sometimes as a small interest piece and, every now and then,...

Robert Downey Jr. in “Oppenheimer” had it easy this year.
He took the early lead in Gold Derby’s official Oscar odds for Best Supporting Actor. He widened that lead in the following months. He then swept the precursor awards. And despite landing in a powerhouse lineup that included Sterling K. Brown in “American Fiction,” Robert De Niro in “Killers of the Flower Moon,” Ryan Gosling in “Barbie” and Mark Ruffalo in “Poor Things,” there was a “near zero” chance of Downey not being called to the stage to accept the Academy Award.
But not every past recipient of the Best Supporting Actor Oscar has cruised to victory like Downey. There have been numerous nail-biters over the years.

Sebastian Stan has proven, time and time again, that he knows how to immaculately deliver what he signs up for, irrespective of the character (or even person) that he has to play. His perfect portrayal of Bucky aka the Winter Soldier in the MCU is the true evidence of this claim, among others. That being said, his next film sees him effortlessly slip into a different avatar as well.
Sebastian Stan in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
As most die-hard fans must already know, one of Stan’s next performances would see him embodying the former president of the United States, Donald Trump. Yet, even though his first look in character makes him look like a scarily accurate version of Trump, fans can’t help but point out that it is not as accurate as all of his previous masterpiece portrayals.

Sebastian Stan is continuing to be a master of disguise.
After portraying Tommy Lee in Hulu series “Pam and Tommy” and transforming via prosthetics for “A Different Man,” Stan is now taking on the role of a lifetime: Donald Trump. Stan leads “The Apprentice,” directed by “Border” and “Holy Spider” filmmaker Ali Abbasi from a script by Gabe Sherman.

“The Apprentice” centers on Trump’s (Stan) rise to fame following what the official description calls a “Faustian deal” with right-wing lawyer Roy Cohn (Jeremy Strong). It’s official: Donald Trump — or at least a fictionalized version of him — is heading to Cannes.
The prestigious French film festival unveiled its 2024 official film selection Thursday in Paris, and Iranian-Danish filmmaker Ali Abbasi’s The Apprentice was among the titles revealed for the event’s main competition.
The biographical drama stars Sebastian Stan as Trump and explores his career as an aspiring real estate tycoon in the New York City of the 1970s and 1980s. The film is described as a mentor-protégé narrative that documents the start of an American dynasty and tackles themes including power, corruption and deception. It delves into the relationship between Trump and Roy Cohn, the New York City prosecutor oft-remembered for working with Sen. Joseph McCarthy during the Second Red Scare.

Mexican TV Outlet Airs ‘Testicular Eclipse’
Rcg Media’s 24/7 news program was covering the eclipse on Monday, as many news outlets were doing.

Apparently, the outlet accidentally aired footage of a man’s testicles as it presented viewer-submitted clips of the eclipse. As the male host was reporting the different cities where the eclipse would be seen, clips started being shown on the left side of the screen. One video showed a man blocking out the sun with his testicles rather than the eclipse.

Over the past decade, Lily James has distinguished herself by building one of the most varied resumes as any film actor her age. After getting her start on British television, James first became known to American audiences in 2012 when she joined the cast of “Downton Abbey” as the love-struck Lady Rose MacClare, a role that earned James two Screen Actors Guild Awards as a member of the show’s ensemble cast.
The actress quickly followed up that television triumph with one on the big screen in the title role of Disney’s live-action “Cinderella,” directed by Kenneth Branagh, which clearly proved her appeal to audiences of all ages. One of the most reliable screen presences in recent years, James showed enormous range in choosing her projects, from such crowd pleasers as “Baby Driver” and “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again” to more intimate films as “The Dig” and “Little Woods,...

Actress Pamela Anderson has talked about why she is fine with without a glamour squad on rotation, despite how her sons feel about it. Anderson, who is on a new cover story for Highsnobiety’s spring 2024 issue, said: “My boys were like, ‘Mom, you must have a glam team.” And my agents were like, ‘You have to have a glam team! Where’s the stylist?’ I go, ‘I know how to put a dress on myself.”
“I don’t need someone buttoning up my blouse. I got this. And they were just horrified,” she added.
The ‘Baywatch’ star has sons Brandon Thomas Lee and Dylan Jagger Lee with musician Tommy Lee.

Mick Mars’ exit from Mötley Crüe and retirement from touring was unceremonious and contentious, resulting in legal drama and a highly publicized back-and-forth spat between the guitarist and his former bandmates.
But it would all be water under the bridge — for Mars at least — if the Crüe still wanted to write songs with their longtime axeman.
In a new interview, Mars was surprisingly forthcoming about the hypothetical opportunity to work with his old band in a creative capacity again.
“Well, it took me 40 years ’cause Mötley was priority… and now that I’m retired, I’m just me,” Mars told Audacy Check In when asked why it took him four decades to make his first solo album. “I mean, if Mötley wanted me to write songs with them again, of course I would… But right now, I’m just me, so I’m writing, and it’s not Mötley, and...

In 1989, the movie Best of the Best had a somewhat abbreviated run in theaters. Only grossing a mere $1.7 million, the movie was a major hit on home video and cable. That’s why, three years later, a sequel, Best of the Best 2, hit theaters… for a while. While the first film has maintained a certain cult status, the sequel, and the two more that followed, have been largely forgotten – until now on this edition of The Best Movie You Never Saw.
Best of the Best 2 came from the same creative team behind the original, including director Robert Radler and producer/ star Phillip Rhee. Intriguingly, it was co-written by a TV actor of the time named John Allen Nelson, who starred on Baywatch for a few seasons, played Paul The Wine Guy on Friends, and has shown up as a guest actor on most of the biggest shows on TV.

Pamela Anderson is returning to the big screen. The “Barb Wire” and “Baywatch” star is set to lead Gia Coppola’s third feature film “The Last Showgirl,” described as a redemption story about an aging Las Vegas dancer looking to connect with her adult daughter after her show is abruptly canceled. Seemingly part “Hacks” and part “The Wrestler,” the film is written by “Up Here” and “The Good Place” scribe Kate Gersten and directed by Coppola.
“The Last Showgirl” marks Anderson’s first lead role in years, and her latest feature after 2022’s “Alone at Night.” In addition to Anderson, the star-studded cast includes Oscar winner Jamie Lee Curtis, Dave Bautista, Brenda Song, Kiernan Shipka, and Billie Lourd.

John Lennon said a song from The Beatles’ The White Album has some social commentary. It’s also supposed to be a joke. Is it a funny joke? Well, that’s a dicey question to look at all these years later.
John Lennon said a song from The Beatles’ ‘White Album’ was inspired by tigers’ deaths
The book All We Are Saying: The Last Major Interview with John Lennon and Yoko Ono features an interview from 1980. In it, John was asked about “The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill.”
“Oh, that was written about a guy in Maharishi’s meditation camp who took a short break to go shoot a few poor tigers, and then came back to commune with God,” John recalled.
“There used to be a character called Jungle Jim and I combined him with Buffalo Bill. It’s a sort of teenage social-comment song and a bit of a joke.

Robert Fripp and Toyah Willcox kick it old-school with their latest “Sunday Lunch” performance. The married couple take on the Beastie Boys classic “(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party).”
The King Crimson guitarist plays the Licensed to Ill song’s iconic riff as Toyah shows off her rhyme-slinging skills. Robert even chimes in on vocals in the chorus, and wraps up the performance by exclaiming, “Fight for your right to party with Toyah and Robert’s ‘Sunday Lunch.'”
These days, Toyah and Robert don’t post new “Sunday Lunch” videos every week, often re-posting past performances from the archives, but this is a brand-new edition of the popular YouTube series.
The couple celebrated New Year’s Eve with a cover of Kiss’ “Lick It Up,” and last year they performed such songs as Joan Jett’s “Bad Reputation,” Cream’s “Sunshine of Your Love,” Mötley Crüe’s “Shout at the Devil,...

The Sundance Film Festival on Sunday night hosted the world premiere of Aaron Schimberg’s A Different Man starring Sebastian Stan, Adam Pearson and The Worst Person in the World breakout Renate Reinsve in her first American film.
Stan toplines the A24 release as an aspiring actor, Edward, who undergoes a radical medical procedure to drastically transform his appearance. But a new face turns into a nightmare when it causes him to lose a dream role he was born to play when the playwright/object of his affections, Reinsve, replaces him with someone who looks nearly identical to his former self, Pearson, a man with a disfigured face.
As for Pearson, he lives with neurofibromatosis (type 1), a rare genetic condition that causes excess body tissue to grow predominantly on his face. The condition fuels the plot of A Different Man and the actor, Pearson, actually inspired the film after having...

One of the ghostwriter’s most valuable skills is getting their subjects to talk. So, when I gathered L.A.’s most successful ghostwriters at the Formosa Cafe to gossip, they knew all my tricks. In desperation, I went with the most transparent of all reporting techniques — buying them all fruity cocktails.
A reputation for discretion is not only how they get work, but how they avoid getting sued; they sign nondisclosure agreements for every memoir they write. But even if they revealed nothing scandalous about their famous clients — or at least nothing that couldn’t be discovered with a Google search — I learned a lot about the curious craft of ghostwriting and the types of personalities drawn to help famous people tell their life stories. Also, I learned why I am far too egotistical to do their job.

Editor’s Note: This article contains disturbing details of an alleged sexual assault that may be triggering to some.
Tommy Lee has been sued for an alleged sexual assault that took place in a helicopter in 2003. The plaintiff claims that the Mötley Crüe drummer forced himself onto her in the cockpit during a 40-minute trip from San Diego to Van Nuys, California.
In the lawsuit, filed Friday (December 15th) in Los Angeles and obtained by Rolling Stone and The Blast, the unnamed woman, who worked as a bank teller in San Diego at the time, said she had struck up a friendship with a pilot by the name of David Martz. A new lawsuit claims Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee sexually assaulted a woman in the cockpit of a helicopter after she was “lured” onto the chopper by the musician’s private pilot.
In the complaint filed Friday in Los Angeles, the Jane Doe plaintiff accuses Lee of “forcibly groping, kissing and penetrating her with his fingers, and attempting to force her to perform oral copulation” during the 40-minute trip from San Diego County to Van Nuys, California, in February 2003.

Stars: Katie Kelly, Joseph Gatt, Michael Lombardi, Marc Menchaca, Jacoby Shaddix, Abbey Hafer, Ivan L. Moody, Zoltan Bathory, Robert Knepper, Robert John Burke | Written by Darren Geare, Jeff Allen Geare | Directed by Samuel Gonzalez Jr., Bridget Smith
From its opening landscape shot of a forest complete with moody voice on top, The Retaliators looks very good indeed. There is definitely an energy reminiscent of a heavy metal music video here, in both sound and visuals, but it works well with the theme and the tone of the movie. Directed by Samuel Gonzalez Jr. and Bridget Smith and penned by the team of Darren Geare and Jeff Allen Geare, this is a good old revenge flick and boy-oh-boy do I enjoy a revenge flick.
There is something very bitterly precise about this, something that looks you in the eye and doesn’t look away, a solid sledgehammer to the face in the guise of vengeance.

Mick Mars has shared the new song “Right Side of Wrong,” the second single from his upcoming debut solo album The Other Side of Mars (arriving February 23rd).
The track is a worthy follow-up the powerful “Loyal to the Lie,” the previous single that launched the campaign for Mars’ first solo LP. Here, the former Mötley Crüe axeman once again dabbles in a surging alternative-metal/post-grunge sound that backs up pointed lyrics — possibly Mars releasing some angst over how things went down with the Crüe.
If that interpretation of the lyrics is on a more personal/micro level, Mars’ press release for the song also offers a macro perspective: “The song explores the oxymoron of two individual minds viewing their position as the right one. While in reality it is simply personal perspective — a present theme in interpersonal relationships we all navigate and more broadly the catalyst of many conflicts on a global societal basis.

Is it too soon for a movie about Donald Trump? Frankly, if I never see the 45th U.S. President's face again it'll be too soon, but it's not surprising that after filmmakers have spent the past several years filling their projects with Trump-like allegorical figures, someone would finally bite the bullet and make a full-on biopic. The upcoming film "The Apprentice" sounds more like a snapshot of the political figure's life than a complete biographical account, but it'll no doubt stir up plenty of intrigue regardless – especially when it plans to include other headline-grabbing names like Ivana Trump and Roy Cohn.
While "The Apprentice" won't be hitting theaters in time for award season, it's still a fascinating project worth keeping an eye on. Any initial ick you might get about the idea of Trump as a protagonist may be tempered by the project director's unique filmography and the eclectic,...

In one of the strangest castings of the year, Sebastian Stan has signed on play Donald Trump in Ali Abbasi’s ‘The Student.’
Joining Stan on the cast list is Maria Bakalova who takes on the role of Ivana Trump and Jeremy Strong as Roy Cohn.
The project is said to be an exploration of power and ambition set in a world of corruption and deceit. It’s a mentor-protege story that charts the origins of an American dynasty. Filled with larger-than-life characters, it reveals the moral and human cost of a culture defined by winners and losers.

There's a fair amount of special effects makeup required to make the FX series "Fargo" come to life, in large part because of the brutal violence that plays out every season. On season 5, however, there was a very different kind of prosthetic work required, and it had everything to do with Jon Hamm's character, a conservative Christian sheriff who's as corrupt as they come. Hamm plays North Dakota lawman Roy Tillman, who first served as sheriff of his county when he was only 25 years old, and it's led him to believe he can do whatever he wants, legal or not. Aided by his cadre of corrupt cops, Tillman shows that he's not afraid to play really dirty, especially when it comes to his frustrations with Minnesota housewife Dot (Juno Temple).
It might seem like he's not really the kind of guy who would have nipple piercings, but as showrunner...
