Fans have been waiting to see some more footage from Fede Alvarez's Alien: Romulus since the release of the chilling first teaser, and we now have an update on the full trailer for the iconic sci-fi horror franchise's return to the big screen.
There was some talk of the new trailer landing today, but according to insider Daniel Richtman, it will be with us tomorrow, Tuesday the 4th.
In addition, Empire has shared a new official still featuring Cailee Spaeny as Rain Carradine and David Jonsson as her android foster brother, Andy.
Synthetics (or artificial persons if you'd rather not offend Bishop) have been a staple of the Alien franchise since the beginning, but it sounds like Romulus will introduce a human/android dynamic we haven't seen before.

The debate about whether or not James Cameron’s gritty sequel to the 1979 Ridley Scott classic takes the cake is a tale as old as time. But it looks like the million-dollar question – Alien or Aliens? – may just come to an end with Alien: Romulus looking to outstrip its Academy award-winning ancestors.

Director Fede Álvarez’s contribution to the Alien franchise, Alien: Romulus, is set to reach theatres on August 16th (you can watch the teaser Here), and during a recent interview he said that the film starts off reminiscent of Ridley Scott’s Alien, then gradually becomes more like James Cameron’s Aliens. Now, in an interview with Empire, Álvarez continued talking about the ways Alien: Romulus blends Alien and Aliens, while Empire unveiled a new image from the film, which can be seen at the bottom of this article.
When this project was announced near the start of 2022, it was said that Álvarez pitched the idea to Ridley Scott years ago and it stuck with Scott. So in late 2021, he called Álvarez and asked if he still wanted to make an Alien movie. Clearly, the answer was yes. 20th Century Studios division president Steve Asbell told The Hollywood Reporter that...

In the diverse field of sci-fi horror, the Alien franchise stands as a cornerstone. A film series that launched the genre’s popularity to its greatest heights. The space horror production was established by the renowned director Ridley Scott back in 1979, when the first movie came out. Since then, the murderous ETs have been handled by various auteurs, from James Cameron to David Fincher. Finnish director Renny Harlin once was painfully close to joining that list.
Sigourney Weaver in Alien |20th Century Studios
The Strangers: Chapter 1 director once had a chance to direct the third installment in the Alien filmology. But destiny had other plans for Harlin, who had to part ways with the project after desperately trying to convince 20th Century Studios of his vision for the film and failing.
Harlin’s plans would have steered the franchise back to its horror roots as opposed to more sci-fi as seen in later films.

Welcome to The B-Side, from The Film Stage. Here we talk about movie stars! Not the movies that made them famous or kept them famous, but the ones that they made in between. And sometimes if we’re lucky we talk to movie stars about their B-Sides!
Today we talk to the great Eric Bana about Eric Bana B-Sides on the occasion of the release of his new film, Force of Nature: The Dry 2, now available in theaters and on VOD.
Our B-Sides today include: Lucky You, Romulus, My Father, and The Secret Scripture. Bana discusses why Lucky You maybe didn’t connect with audiences in 2007, how Romulus, My Father is actually quite the A-Side in Australia, and the need to be malleable when working with somebody like director Jim Sheridan.
We also talk about Bana’s detective influences for the Aaron Falk character in The Dry films, why...

Revisiting a Classic Horror With Alien Romulus As Alien: Romulus prepares to hit theaters, a new image released gives fans yet another glimpse of the notoriously petrifying Xenomorph. Stepping into both familiar and uncharted territories, Fede Alvarez’s installment promises a blend of classic fear with fresh twists, staying true to Ridley Scott’s vision while propelling the narrative forward. Esteemed for its disquieting presence, the Xenomorph, a creature with roots extensively detailed in H.R. Giger’s work, hasn’t strayed far from its original form. Despite minor adjustments over the decades, the alien’s core design remains intact, inciting dread with its metallic teeth

EW has shared two new official promo stills for Alien: Romulus as part of their summer preview, and one of 'em pays homage to a scene from Aliens.
In James Cameron's follow-up to Ridley Scott's '70s classic, Corporal Hicks (Michael Biehn) shows Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) how to use a pulse rifle before the crew land in some real pretty sh*t with the attacking Xenomorphs, and the moment is recreated here with Archie Renaux's Tyler and Cailee Spaeny's Rain Carradine.
The second image gives us another look at a Xenomorph about to give an unfortunate crew member a very bad day.
While the previous movies focused on blue-collar colleagues, soldiers, and prisoners, director Fede Alvarez explains how Romulus will take a different approach by introducing a group of characters who have become as close as family.
“My first instinct, just to try something different that hasn't been seen before,...

A new image from Fede Alvarez's Alien: Romulus has been released (via USA Today), and it gives us another look at one of the movie's Xenomorphs as it bares its terrifying metallic teeth
A few subtle changes aside, the titular creature has pretty much remained the same since it first debuted in Ridley Scott's original classic, and it doesn't look like Romulus is going to alter the design to any great extent.

Who was The Pawn on Days of our Lives? That’s a question many fans are asking as a blast from the past keeps popping up on the hit Peacock show.
The Pawn has become one hot topic on Days since Konstantin (John Kapelos) was kidnapped by John (Drake Hogestyn) and Steve (Stephen Nichols).
During that incident, Konstantin saw something in John that reminded him this wasn’t the first time he met the Black Patch duo.
Since then, Konstantin has been dropping not-so-subtle hints to Steve about it, especially as Patch continues to try to force Konstantin away from Maggie (Suzanne Rogers).
Days of our Lives spoilers reveal Marlena (Deidre Hall) is worried about John, and she should be because his The Pawn problem isn’t going away.
This storyline is just starting, so it’s time for a refresher on The Pawn or, as many Days fans know,...

"Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" was the first serialized "Trek" series and remains the one most willing to break with the franchise's utopian vision. As Captain Ben Sisko (Avery Brooks) muses, "It's easy to be a saint in paradise," but "DS9" puts its characters in tough spots with no easy solutions.
The greatest example is season 6, episode 19 — "In The Pale Moonlight." If you haven't seen it, go watch it now (streaming on Paramount+), experience its brilliance unspoiled, and then report back here.
It's the height of the Dominion War and the Federation-Klingon Alliance is losing. If the Dominion is to be defeated, the good guys will need help from the other major power in the galaxy's Alpha Quadrant: the Romulans, who have thus far remained neutral.
So, Sisko enlists Garak (Andrew Robinson), a Cardassian former spy, for espionage help. The plan quickly changes from Garak digging up dirt to him...

One of the more fantastical elements of J.J. Abrams' 2009 film "Star Trek" is the use of a mysterious, seemingly magical substance called Red Matter.
In the 23rd century, Spock (Leonard Nimoy) used Red Matter to create a black hole in the Romulan star system just as its sun was about to go supernova. The idea was that the black hole would suck up the exploding star like a vacuum cleaner and save the Romulan homeworld. No, the actual astral physics don't many any sense, but this is what they went with.
Spock did suck up the supernova with his black hole, but he was too late to save Romulus. The black hole, it turns out, was also a portal through time, and Spock is sucked in and deposited about a century in the past. Following Spock through the time hole is a bitter Romulan named Nero (Eric Bana), incensed...

Actor Cailee Spaeny has confirmed that the events of Alien: Romulus will unfold between those of 1979’s Alien and 1986’s Aliens.
When it was announced last year that Don’t Breathe director Fede Alvarez would be heading up a new movie in the Alien franchise, the line was that its story (co-written by Alvarez and Rodo Sayagues) would be unconnected to the previous films.
That’s likely still true, but we now at least know when the plot of Alien: Romulus will take place – between the events of 1979’s Alien and 1986’s Aliens. Rumours of this timeline placement have been floating around for a few months now, but actor Cailee Spaeny, who has a currently undisclosed role in Romulus, recently confirmed this to Variety's Michaela Zee.
“It’s supposed to slot in between the first movie and the second movie,” Spaeny said. “They brought the same team from Aliens, the James Cameron film.

“SNL” used the occasion of Jason Momoa hosting and promoting “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” to revisit the recent meme-ing of men always thinking about the Roman Empire. The music video comedy sketch opens with several women singing about their distant male partners, wondering what’s going on in their minds as they stare into the distance.
Rather than another woman, the emphatic answer comes: Rome.
Momoa, no stranger to playing warriors from “Game of Thrones” to “Dune” to “See”, switches into full Roman gladiator attire as he delivers praises for the glorious civilization, its fun facts and its continuing influence.
“The Roman Empire, Ancient Rome / Five times a day, it pops into my dome,” Momoa declares. “Which reminds me, they invented the dome / Just one of the reasons that I think about Rome.”
“Caesar, straight didn’t give a f–k / Drank ice cold water from an aqueduct,” Momoa continues,...

Brad Feinstein is also producing and financing through his Romulus Entertainment banner, alongside his development partner Christina Weiss Lurie of Fourth & Twenty Eight.
