Quentin Tarantino loves film. Few filmmakers can boast such a wide knowledge of movies, especially the B-films and grindhouse works that have inspired his greatest cinematic accomplishments. Tarantino also loves to talk about future projects. Put those two passions together and you get a guy who often teases movies he never actually ends up making.
Of course, it’s not always talk. Many of his best movies, including Kill Bill and Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood started as ideas that he blabbed about to anyone who would listen. But while that approach builds excitement, it also sets up fans for disappointment, such as when it was revealed that he had abandoned The Movie Critic, which for months was teased as the director’s 10th and final film.
Now including The Movie Critic, here are the most intriguing Tarantino projects that never got made.

Throughout his career, Quentin Tarantino has teased an expanded universe of adventures for his original characters. For years he dropped breadcrumbs about "Double V Vega," a yarn about ill-fated criminal brothers Vincent and Vic Vega (John Travolta and Michael Madsen respectively). He's also discussed the possibility of a third "Kill Bill" film, which could involve The Bride's daughter (possibly Maya Hawke) and/or Vernita Green's kid Nikki.
Given that Tarantino seems pretty serious about ending his directorial career after his next movie, these hypothetical projects will probably never go before cameras. But as he demonstrated recently with his novelization of "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood," he's more than happy to explore these characters' backstories and inner lives in prose. This isn't a new development. In fact, we nearly got to read about the further adventures of Jamie Foxx's Django before the story wound up turning into something else entirely.

Vivica A. Fox reignited demand for Quentin Tarantino’s “Kill Bill Vol. 3” in July after sharing with NME that she’d love to see Zendaya take on the role of Vernita Green’s daughter, should original actress Ambrosia Kelley not return for the up-in-the-air sequel. Fox’s fan casting idea went viral on social media and eventually made its way to Zendaya herself, who told Empire magazine this week that she was quite appreciative of the shout out.
“I saw that [and] I was quite honored that she would say that,” Zendaya said. “Obviously she’s incredible and I’m very flattered that she would think of me. You know, it’s just an idea. The internet kinda takes things and run with it.”

In a new interview with NME, Vivica A. Fox revealed her hopes for a third edition of the “Kill Bill” franchise and knows exactly who she wants to be its star: Zendaya.
Fox played Vernita Green, who was brutally murdered by Uma Thurman’s The Bride in the opening scene of “Kill Bill: Vol. 1.”
Director Quentin Tarantino has been hinting at the possibility of “Kill Bill: Vol. 3” for a while, outlining that the new installment would star Green’s daughter on a journey to avenge her mother’s death.
“The star will be Vernita Green’s [Fox’s] daughter, Nikki,” Tarantino told Entertainment Weekly in a 2004 interview. “I’ve already got the whole mythology: Sofie Fatale [Julie Dreyfus] will get all of Bill’s money. She’ll raise Nikki, who’ll take on the Bride. Nikki deserves her revenge every bit as much as the Bride deserved hers.

Fans have been urging Quentin Tarantino to direct “Kill Bill Vol. 3” for nearly two decades now, and Vivica A. Fox has an idea to get the filmmaker to fast-track the project: Cast Zendaya. Tarantino has long stated that a “Kill Bill Vol. 3” would follow the adult daughter of Vernita Green (played by Fox in “Kill Bill Vol. 1”) as she seeks revenge against The Bride (Uma Thurman) for killing her mother, but the project has never materialized. Fox told NME this week that if original actress Ambrosia Kelley was not going to return to play Vernita’s daughter, then Tarantino should go with the “Euphoria” favorite.
“I haven’t got any official word [on ‘Kill Bill Vol. 3],” Fox said. “I had a feeling that hopefully [Tarantino] was waiting on the actress who plays my daughter to grow up a little bit. But then I was doing an interview and they asked,...

Quentin Tarantino has spoken with Variety about potentially doing one more Kill Bill film before he retires – considering the fact that he’s previously spoken of only doing ten movies max before throwing in the towel, and that The Hateful Eight makes, well, eight… that doesn’t leave him with a lot of slots left to fill that aren’t sequels. So we can see that it would be a big decision for him (if he wants to stick to his ten-and-done rule).
Here’s what he had to say:
“I’m not committing to it, but I wouldn’t be surprised if The Bride made one more appearance before the whole thing is said and done… I am talking to Uma [Thurman] about it just a little bit. Some of the stuff that I’d written that never made it into the movie that maybe I could use.”

Quentin Tarantino and the cast of his latest film “The Hateful Eight” corralled San Diego Comic-Con’s renowned Hall H this weekend to preview unseen footage and to answer questions from fans, and invariably a question from the crowd was raised about whether there would be a third installment to the inventive, genre-bending"Kill Bill" series? “Never say never, we'll see, when it comes to 'Kill Bill 3.' [Uma Thurman] would really like to do it, we talk about it every once in awhile or so — we've got to wait for Vernita’s daughter to get old enough to go and kill her,” Tarantino explained, which drew thunderous applause from the audience. Qt is of course referring to the character of Nikkia Bell (played by actress Ambrosia Kelley), the daughter of Vernita Green (played by Vivica A. Fox), who Beatrix provides an assassin’s edict to upon murdering her mother: “When you grow up,...

Writer/director Quentin "Inglourious Basterds" Tarantino is reportedly developing, with actress Uma 'The Bride' Thurman, Kill Bill 3. Thurman, who gave an Oscar-worthy, gutsy performance in the first 2 Golden Globe/ Grammy Award-nominated Kill Bill films, (also receiving a co-writer credit), played the character of former 'Deadly Viper' assassin 'Beatrix Kiddo', aka 'Black Mamba'. The new sequel will be given a 10-year break in the Kill Bill timeline, for Beatrix to spend time with daughter 'Beebe' she conceived with 'Bill' (David Carradine). Tarantino first raised the spectre of Kill Bill 3 during production of the original movie, split into 2 stand-alone features, proposing the idea of 'Nikki Bell' (Ambrosia Kelley), the daughter of 'Vernita Green' aka 'Copperhead' (Vivica A. Fox), seeking revenge on 'The Bride', after witnessing Beatrix kill her mother, in a vicious knife fight in the kitchen of Green's suburban family home. At that time Thurman's 'Bride' character said that...
