The Indomina Group, Samuel L. Jackson and Gonzo Studios are teaming to produce a live action film based on the popular “Afro Samurai” animated series.
The original manga followed the life of Afro Samurai who witnessed his father (owner of the No. 1 headband) being killed by the hands of a gunslinger named Justice (owner of the No. 2 headband) while he was a child. As an adult, Afro sets off to avenge his father's death and kill Justice.
The property was adapted into a five-episode anime TV series by Studio Gonzo in 2007, a TV movie sequel "Afro Samurai: Resurrection" in 2009, and a successful video game. Jackson lent his voice to the character in these works.
Jackson, Jasbinder Singh Mann and Shin Ishikawa will produce. A writer & director will be attached shortly and shooting will take place at Pinewood Indomina Studios in the Dominican Republic in 2012.

One of the biggest roles Samuel L. Jackson has had in the past ten years wasn’t in a film, but in the animated show Afro Samurai. The title itself tells you most of what you need to know about the series, which is based on a manga of the same name by Takashi Okazaki. Following a samurai who avenges the death of his father in a futuristic (yet feudal) Japan, it was made up of a five-episode miniseries, which also spawned the made-for-tv animated film, Afro Samurai: Resurrection.
Now, Variety says that Jackson wants to make a live-action adaptation of the property. He might not end up starring, although the actor is producing with Indomina Group’s Jasbinder Singh Mann, as is Shin Ishikawa of Gonzo Studios. While the project was just officially announced, it all seems to be developing rather quickly — the plan is to get a writer...

It's officially been announced that a live action adaptation of the animated series Afro Samurai is in development, and what makes this news even more awesome is the fact that Samuel L. Jackson is set to produce the film! It would be interesting to see who they end up getting to write, direct, and star in the film.
Indomina Films (True Legend) is the studio behind the project, and chances are it's going pot be awesome! Here's what Jackson had to say in a statement, “This has been one of my very favorite properties ever since our amazing debut at Comic Con with the original series pilot out of Japan. I can't wait to produce the epic feature film version with our new partners at The Indomina Group.”
A live action adaptation of this film was in development way back in 2008 with Andre 3000 set to star, obviously nothing happened with.

Paris -- It's all fun and gaming until someone gets hurt on "Trauma Team," a new medical drama format set for global release via digital distribution and production company Instavision based on Japanese game developer Atlus' Nintendo Wii hit format "Trauma Team," Instavision confirmed Monday.
Producers describe the new series as "Grey's Anatomy" meets "the A-Team." The show follows a group of last-year residents at a rough L.A. hospital who form a group of life-saving vigilantes at an underground treatment facility.
"They're like medical Batmen," Instavision's founder and CEO Joshua Long said of the medical prodigy heroes.
The "Trauma Team" game will be released in May in the U.S. and in the fall in Europe. The game's producer Atlus Co. Ltd and INdiGO, a joint venture between Atlus' parent company Index Holdings and Gonzo animation studio, are co-producing the series.
