Competitors faced a difficult situation on The Challenge: All Stars 4, Episode 11.
At the start of the season, host Tj Lavin revealed that competitors needed to earn a Star.
In the first daily challenge, Tj indicated that Stars went to the three male and three female competitors who performed the best.
After that, they could only be acquired or given to a castmate by winning an elimination. Tj continually delivered the point of having a Star to cast members throughout the episodes.
During Episode 10, viewers saw Steve Meinke win an elimination against Jay Gotti, who chose to go into the elimination to try to win his Star.
With the win, Steve chose to take a star from castmate Adam Larson and give it to Ace Amerson. That set things up for an exciting situation when Episode 11 arrived.

Matthew Vaughn, director of the Kick-Ass film franchise, is teasing the reboot movie and saying that none of the previous actors are coming back but leaves the door open for future installments.
“Kick-Ass changed people’s perception of what a superhero film is. We’re doing it again,” Vaughn said during a panel at New York Comic Con, per EW. “None of the other characters from the other Kick-Ass are in it, though we’d like to have them back after the reboot. I can’t really talk about it, but it’s fun!”
Kick-Ass is a 2010 film directed by Vaughn from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jane Goldman, based on the comic book created by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr. The first installment starred Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Chloë Grace Moretz, Mark Strong and Nicolas Cage. A sequel would follow in 2013 with Jim Carrey joining the cast as Sal Bertolinni,...

The Superman origin story "Smallville" aired for ten seasons, first on The WB and later on The CW. The show was created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, who also came up with the wildly popular Netflix series "Wednesday." "Smallville" ran from 2001 through 2011 for over 200 episodes (though Gough and Millar left after season 7), chronicling Kal-El/Clark Kent's high school years and romance with Lana Lang (Kristin Kreuk) and friendship-turned-antagonistic relationship with Lex Luthor (Michael Rosenbaum), his work at the Daily Planet with Lois Lane (Erica Durance), and finally, his transformation into Superman. Until the very last moment, we never saw Clark in his cape, but the show made a whole new generation fall in love with the character, the Superman mythology, and DC comics.
It's hard to believe it's been over two decades since "Smallville" began airing. Gough and Millar spoke to The Hollywood Reporter in December 2022 about their new...

Pairing wine with movies! See the trailers and hear the fascinating commentary for these movies, and many more, at Trailers From Hell. This week, we have three films which feature the swingin’ sounds of the big bands, and a wine pairing for each.
The music we are dealing with this time is more than soundtrack fodder or score. The music is the focal point. We’re going back decades to relive the sounds that were “a hit before your mother was born.” Maybe even before your grandmother.
In 1942’s Orchestra Wives, Glenn Miller plays the leader of a big band. It wasn’t a stretch for him, since that’s what he was in real life. The story centers on the jealousy that arises in one of the musicians’ wives due to his previous relationship with the cute little singer in the orchestra. It’s a malaise that soon infects the whole band,...

Pairing wine with movies! See the trailers and hear the fascinating commentary for these movies, and many more, at Trailers From Hell. This week, we find some wines that pair well with screwball comedies – wines that taste good going down as well as coming out our noses when we laugh.
This nation needed a laugh in the 1930s, and Hollywood provided. The year 1936 was brightened by Theodora Goes Wild, a pairing of Melvyn Douglas and Irene Dunne. This was the movie, in fact, which spun Dunne’s career from dramatic roles to comedic ones.
Dunne plays a small-town Sunday school teacher who has secretly written a bestselling book, full of scandalously sexy scenes. Her nom de plume keeps her secret, but in a screwball comedy, someone always overhears. What will the ladies of the town think? Don’t worry, Theodora – everybody loves a celebrity.

Terry Crews said he had "rage" after he was allegedly sexually assaulted by Hollywood agent Adam Venit.
The former Brooklyn Nine-Nine star spoke with Good Morning America's Michael Strahan on Wednesday about filing a police report last week against Venit, former head of the motion picture department at William Morris Endeavor, claiming that the man groped him while at an event that he attended with his wife, Rebecca King-Crews, and Adam Sandler in February 2016. Crews also pointed out that Venit is Sandler, Eddie Murphy and Sylvester Stallone’s agent.
“He’s connected to probably everyone I know in the business,” the 49-year-old actor said. “I did not know this man. I have never had a conversation with him, ever. I knew of him …The first time I ever had an interaction with him was at this event."

In some ways, Matt Barr has been preparing for his current role — Captain Leland Gallo on The CW’s Valor — ever since he first stepped foot on the Warner Bros. Studio lot in 2004.
That’s when his career as a Los Angeles actor began, with a guest spot on ER. He’s taken on a number of different roles in the years since, from a murderous “psycho” on The WB/CW’s One Tree Hill to a person of interest on CBS’ short-lived murder mystery Harper’s Island, the latter of which helped him get used to being on a show shrouded in secrecy.

Every Halloween, when you want to check out a horror movie to get your heart racing, or a hilarious scary movie send-up to celebrate the holiday with laughs, everybody seems to cycle back to some of the same old classics.
While the slasher movies we've all come to know and love are classics for a reason (see: Halloween, I Know What You Did Last Summer or Scream), it’s fun to dive a little deeper into the realm of obscure horror, where some of the truly great fright flicks hide in the shadows.
Check out Et’s suggestions for some of the great lesser-known gems of spooky cinema with this year's alternative Halloween viewing guide:

Erika Christensen wasn’t meant to play Kyra Sedgwick’s sister on Ten Days in the Valley -- at least, not the way creator Tassie Cameron originally envisioned. It was Sedgwick, who serves as an executive producer on the heart-pumping 10-episode mystery drama, who hand-picked the Parenthood star -- the two met “once upon a time” in New York, Christensen recalls -- to be her TV sibling.
“The script was written without me in mind and I wasn’t quite right for it the way it was on paper,” Christensen tells Et of her character, Ali Petrovich, the headstrong younger sister to Sedgwick’s Jane Sadler, a television writer whose daughter goes missing in the middle of the night. (Watch an exclusive scene between Christensen and Sedgwick from Sunday’s episode above.) That mystery serves as the driving force for the unraveling of secrets, lies and double lives.

Every week, IndieWire asks a select handful of TV critics two questions and publishes the results on Tuesday. (The answer to the second, “What is the best show currently on TV?” can be found at the end of this post.)
This week’s question: What is the saddest show? Which show makes you cry the most? (Old and current shows are all fair game.)
Daniel Fienberg (@TheFienPrint), The Hollywood Reporter
I just wrote something on this very topic! And I think these are two different questions. Which show makes me cry the most? In the balance across its entire series run? I think the answer has to be “Friday Night Lights.” I’m a sucker for underdog sports stories in general, but “Friday Night Lights” could make me cry in so many different ways, from what happens to Jason Street in the pilot to what Matt Saracen goes through in...

Marvel has planted its seeds far and wide over the past few years in the television landscape, but that volume has so far yielded mixed results.
While rival DC has found success by focusing on familiar franchises like “The Flash,” “Arrow,” “Supergirl,” and the Batman origins tale on “Gotham,” Marvel has been a bit more stingy with its marquee characters. For example, ABC’s “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” lives in the world of the Avengers, yet never became a hit partly because it focused on lesser-known characters.
But that’s not always a hindrance. Many of Marvel’s Netflix series, especially “Jessica Jones,” have been critically acclaimed partly because they felt like they hadn’t been overly mined previously. It takes a visionary showrunner, in this age of so many superhero tales, to bring a fresher take to the genre and keep interest high.

For better or worse, Adam Brody will always be remembered as Seth Cohen from The O.C. The affable and awkward teen is easy to find inside the weathered and wiser 37-year-old Brody, but the San Diego native might never be able to shake his early-aughts pop culture iconography. Despite that infamous role, Brody has had a pretty consistent career over the last two decades, playing opposite Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in Mr. & Mrs. Smith, being directed by famed playwright Neil Labute and making guest appearances on beloved TV shows like House of Lies and The League. This month, he’s in the buddy comedy Big Bear, where he gets to sport a pretty mean mustache, and returns with the second season of StartUp on Crackle.

To explain the genesis of NBC’s upcoming military drama The Brave, series creator Dean Georgaris invokes not the strategic genius of Sgt. Major Jonas Blane or the war-is-hell mentality of Capt. Benjamin “Hawkeye” Pierce, but the poor choices made by one Walter White.
“I don’t come from a military family. I don’t have a political axe to grind. I don’t have a particular fascination with death, but I am fascinated with human resiliency and human ingenuity,” Georgaris (Life of Pi) tells TVLine. After watching documentaries about American Special Forces teams, “I was continually impressed with their ingenuity.

Written, directed and largely composed by Geremy Jasper, a New Jersey music video director making his first feature, Patti Cake$ is an exceptionally well made film, displaying the sort of rawness and authenticity only possible in street-level filmmaking. It’s a fresh take on some very familiar underdog story traits.
23-year-old Patricia (Danielle Macdonald), Aka Patti, lives a meagre existence of microwave meals, tinned lager and daytime TV. She lives with her mother, Barbara (Bridgett Everett) – a “friend” to many a local gentleman – and her sarcastic, chain-smoking Nana (Cathy Moriarty). Patti dreams of taking the star-studded crown from her hero, O-z (Sahr Ngaujah), and becoming “Killa P”, the sickest rapper on the East Coast. But her reality is merely sick: her family’s declining health is costing them dearly in insurance bills.

In the previous week, Dassy, Mark and Sydney were in the bottom three, with the judges sending Sydney home. But will the judges save Dassy if she's in the bottom three again?...
