Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are making headlines for their marriage and possible future divorce. The couple initially was engaged in the early 2000s, but they broke off their engagement in 2004. They rekindled their past flame in 2021 and tied the knot in 2022. Unfortunately, divorce rumors loom over Lopez and Affleck — and Lopez’s on-and-off friend, Leah Remini, allegedly told Lopez that she found Affleck to be a “selfish” partner.
Leah Remini allegedly told Jennifer Lopez that Ben Affleck wasn’t ‘fully committed’ as a husband
Leah Remini and Jennifer Lopez go way back. Lopez met the King of Queens star in 2004, and the two bonded immediately. Remini stayed close friends with Lopez through the years, even commenting on wanting to become godparents to Lopez’s twins. Remini also celebrated Lopez’s 47th birthday in Las Vegas, and they co-starred in Second Act together in 2018.

In director Brad Peyton’s Netflix sci-fi action movie, “Atlas,” Jennifer Lopez stars as the titular character, a data analyst who must turn to AI to help save the Earth from an evil robot (Simu Liu).
“I think this movie does a good job of showing how AI could go incredibly wrong, and this is how it could go really right,” Lopez told me at the film’s Los Angeles premiere.
The multi-hyphenate has experienced the exploitative side of AI, with ads “selling skincare that I know nothing about” using manipulated photos of her face covered in “wrinkles.” “It’s really scary,” she said, adding, “Right away we had them stealing our faces. So, yes, [AI] is really scary.”
Lopez further explained, “I think you should be respectful of AI…We have to be open to all possibilities. These movies that are talking about AI — especially this one — do a really...

Jim Carrey is one of the most prolific comic actors in Hollywood. The actor changed the way comedy stars were looked at in the industry by giving solid hits in the ‘90s with films such as Ace Venture: Pet Detective, The Mask, Liar Liar, and more. Though he has done great work in dramas such as Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, he is known for his comedic work the most.
Carrey scored a trio of incredible hits including his breakthrough release Ace Ventura. After the success of the comic book adaptation The Mask, Carrey played the role of Lloyd Christmas in the comedy Dumb and Dumber. The actor was so committed to the role of a stupid limo driver that he chipped the cap off of his tooth to give him the iconic look.

From his beginnings as a featured player on In Living Color and creator and star of The Jamie Foxx Show to multiple Academy Award–nominated performances (and one win as Ray Charles in 2004’s Ray), Jamie Foxx has proven over and over again that he has the range.
Need someone to bring the funny? He’s your man. Bad guys need beating up? Yes, hello. Emotional gut punch required? On it. All three at once? Look no further than Day Shift, his latest movie hitting Netflix Aug. 12. Foxx plays Bud Jablonski, an LA vampire hunter with cash flow problems who’s forced to bite off a little more than he can chew to pay off his debts.
When you’re done watching him tear up the screen with Snoop Dogg and Dave Franco, make sure to queue up some of his past projects listed below.

The franchise could have been totally different had Jim Carrey been a part of Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park. The ever-talented actor initially garnered the spotlight with his work in the 1990 TV series, In Living Color. He had been active in the industry for years, majorly portraying supporting roles, before rising to prominence in 1994 with a string of hit films, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, The Mask, and Dumb and Dumber.

Whenever Jamie Foxx steps up to a microphone, one can expect to be entertained.
And that’s precisely what the Oscar and Grammy-winning superstar plans to do when he hits the road to discuss the circumstances around his sudden hospitalization nearly a year ago.
On Sunday afternoon, Foxx offered attendees of the African American Film Critics Association’s (Aafca) Special Achievement Awards luncheon a sneak peek at the tone of that material — a mix of heartfelt reflection with some top-notch zingers — while accepting Aafca’s Producers Award alongside his Foxxhole Productions partner Datari Turner.
2023 was a big year for the company thanks to the back-to-back successes of Netflix’s “They Cloned Tyrone” and Amazon’s “The Burial.” But while Foxxhole’s movies were shooting to the top of the streaming charts, Foxx was fighting for his life after suffering a medical emergency — the nature of which has not been disclosed.

During a recent Today episode, Savannah Guthrie was absent from the lineup alongside her colleagues.
As NBC’s morning program arrived, viewers saw a recognizable replacement in Savannah’s spot.
Craig Melvin, who often appears on Today, was seated between Hoda Kotb and Sheinelle Jones.
“Well, hello, welcome to Today. It is Friday. We’re glad you’re with us,” Hoda said at the show’s start before announcing, “Savannah is off today.”
The NBC anchor recently received some backlash for an interview segment she did with singer and actress Kelly Rowland.
Some online critics deemed part of the interview “disrespectful” as Savannah attempted to get Rowland to answer a specific question.

On Thursday’s Today episode, Savannah sat down with singer Kelly Rowland, formerly a member of Destiny’s Child. She’s gone on to a solo music career and has ventured into acting.

This is Me…Now: A Love Story is a film starring Jennifer Lopez and directed by Dave Meyers.
I must confess, at first I had no desire to watch this film, but as a professional, I felt obligated. However, I must also confess that we were pleasantly surprised by this original musical, written and starring Jennifer Lopez, which revolves around her own life and love affairs, as one may expect.
However, “This is Me…Now: A Love Story” is not just about the romances known from magazines and television. It is a futuristic video clip with several musical numbers, each with high quality in terms of photography and set design. Although it may seem self-centered and geared towards her fans, I must admit that “This is Me…Now: A Love Story” is of great quality and production.

Actor Marlon Wayans is known for his stand-up comedy and comedic roles in films such as White Chicks and the Scary Movie franchise. Though the actor has ventured into dramatic territory with films such as Requiem For A Dream he was mostly known for his comedic endeavors as he gained fame with his sitcom with brother Shawn Wayans, The Wayans Bros.
Wayans also starred in the 2009 action film G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. The Stephen Sommers directorial was an adaptation of the popular comics of the same name and starred Channing Tatum and Wayans in lead roles. Due to Wayans’ reputation as a comic actor, fans were reportedly concerned that the film would not be a serious adaptation of the action comics.

Actor and stand-up comedian Marlon Wayans is known for his sitcom, The Wayans Bros. and films like Little Man and White Chicks. The actor is also known for his appearances in the Scary Movie franchise. While known mostly for his comedic roles, the actor also tried his hand at drama with Darren Aronofsky’s harrowing drama, Requiem for a Dream.
One of the most interesting bits of trivia for the comic and actor was that he was signed onto play Robin in Tim Burton’s Batman Returns. The dark sequel to 1989’s Batman initially planned to introduce Robin to the franchise, and Wayans would have a larger role in the threequel. However, plans reportedly fell through, and Wayans never played the role.

You’d be excused if you didn’t notice that Netflix recently added the forgotten sitcom My Wife and Kids to its servers. With the labor stoppages over and TV back up and running once again, streaming services are pushing full steam ahead to get regularly scheduled programming back on the market. It doesn’t seem like there would be any room for a show more known for its Nick at Nite run than its original broadcast on ABC, but anyone who ignores the Damon Wayans-centered sitcom is missing out on one of the funniest, most chaotic comedies of the 2000s.
At first glance, My Wife and Kids looks like your typical comedian vehicle from around this time period. So many stand-up comics got their own network sitcom that the genre turned into TV junk food during the late 20th century. Everybody Loves Raymond, Home Improvement, The King of Queens,...

"If you went into a movie called 'Ace Ventura: Pet Detective' and you were doing the stuff I was doing in that movie, would you be expecting while you were doing that movie that it was going to be huge?" Jim Carrey asked this to radio shock-jock Howard Stern in 1994 shortly after the actor's movie opened unexpectedly atop the box office. Roy Wood Jr. confirmed his fans’ lip-reading skills on Monday after Emmy Award audiences caught him mouthing what appeared to be a plea from stage for a new Daily Show host.
Trevor Noah famously left The Daily Show in December 2022, but the Emmys delay means the Television Academy is only now honoring the 2022-23 TV season. In that time, The Daily Show has yet to name a permanent replacement, rotating through guest-hosts instead since this time last year. Early on in that process, Wood, a correspondent for the entirety of Noah’s run, was seen as a viable contender for the role, but he ultimately exited the show in October, once it was clear that the search would drag on — and on.

Trevor Noah’s Final ‘Daily Show’ Season Grabs Variety Talk Series Emmy: “We Got Rid of John Oliver!”
The Daily Show With Trevor Noah took home the Emmy Award for best variety talk series on Monday, the first win for the show since Jon Stewart’s final year as host. As it happens, 2023 was also Noah’s final year as host of the Comedy Central show.

Jim Carrey wanted to perform from a very young age and when he was just 10 years old wrote to “The Carol Burnett Show” offering his services as an impressionist. While his request was politely declined it would only be another decade before he was all over television with his antic comedic act. He ultimately achieved the brass ring for comedians of this era when he got to appear on “The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson.” In 1984 the 22-year-old Carrey was cast as the lead in a TV series called “The Duck Factory” which was supposed to be a star-making vehicle for the actor. Despite its prime placement on NBC’s Thursday night lineup the show quickly failed. Carrey bounced back with small other roles including the lead in the film “Once Bitten” which was a mild box office hit in 1985.

The new year is here. Valentine’s Day is coming up, and Netflix has unveiled new details about their upcoming romantic comedy, Players, which also includes some first-look pictures. The cast of the new comedy features an ensemble that includes Gina Rodriguez, Damon Wayans Jr., Joel Courtney, Augustus Prew, Liza Koshy, Ego Nwodim, Marin Hinkle and Tom Ellis. The movie follows in the tradition of films like Wedding Crashers, where a group of friends have perfected the process of meeting strangers for one-night stands and the complications that can arise from that.
The official synopsis from Netflix reads,
“New York sportswriter Mack (Gina Rodriguez) has spent years devising successful hook-up “plays” with best friend Adam (Damon Wayans Jr.) and their crew. While it has led to countless one-night stands over the years, following their playbook comes with a strict set of ground rules — chief among them: you can’t build a relationship from a play.

Chris Rock and Kevin Hart, these names are always synonyms with laughter and humor, and of course, they are the doyens of standup comedy in the United States of America. When these two people come together no room can stay silent because most people are busy holding their stomachs and trying hard to control the laughter. For the first time, these two absolute giants who belong to two different generations of comedy come together to perform a standup special for a live audience.
There is genuine excitement for Chris Rock & Kevin Hart: Headliners Only, a Netflix original documentary that takes the audience through the behind-the-scenes footage of this standup special that spanned five shows. The documentary also covers the lives and times of the two struggling comics and their journeys to become among the most bankable comics of their respective generation. Jamie Foxx was born Eric Marlon Bishop on December 13, 1967. He changed his name when he began his career in stand-up comedy and chose “Foxx” to honor one of his comedic idols, Redd Foxx. He picked the first name “Jamie” because he noticed that female comics were usually given earlier times on open mic nights and he thought the androgynous name of Jamie might get him onstage earlier in the evening.
Foxx’s love of comedy began early. By third grade he was already doing stand up for his elementary school classes. His popularity was such that if the class behaved properly the teacher would reward them by letting young Jamie tell them jokes. He moved to Los Angeles when he grew up and began appearing on the comedy circuit until he was cast on the television sketch show “In Living Color” alongside other newcomers such as David Alan Grier and Jim Carrey.

When it was first announced that "Frasier" would be resurrected for a reboot, I think a lot of us had the same thought: again? Not that the beloved "Cheers" spinoff, which ran for 11 glorious seasons on NBC between 1993 and 2004, had already been rebooted once before, but that it feels like everything else has. From classics like "Hawaii Five-o" and "Dynasty" to hour-long dramas like "Veronica Mars" and "Prison Break," to dozens of sitcoms, like "Full House" (rebranded "Fuller House"), "Will & Grace," "The Connors" (a reboot/spinoff of "Roseanne"), "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" ... you get the picture.
The witty, quippy, debonair world of Seattle psychologist and radio personality Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammer) belongs to a rarefied universe of '90s TV dynamite, including "Friends," "Seinfeld," and "In Living Color," none of which have been rebooted. Would taking the paddles to Daphne, Roz, and Niles denude them of their charms?...

The Academy Awards recognized Denzel Washington’s contributions to cinema twice now. But Washington considered the possibility that winning the Best Actor award for his role in Training Day may have assisted another Oscar winner.
Why Denzel Washington felt he maybe helped Jamie Foxx win an Oscar for ‘Ray’ Jamie Foxx | Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic
Washington was already used to having Oscar gold by the time Foxx took home his Best Actor award. Apart from Training Day, his first Oscar win came in 1989. There, he won a Best Supporting Actor award for his performance in Glory. But he made notable history with his Training Day performance. At the time, Washington became the second black actor to win a Best Actor award.
Since then, four other black actors have won the coveted prize. Foxx became the third when he won for Ray back in 2005. In a resurfaced interview with The Guardian, Washington...

David Alan Grier performed a 10-minute, completely unscripted sermon during his first take on the Netflix’s film “They Cloned Tyrone.”
“True story: his first take, we rode with him,” the film’s director Juel Taylor said.
In Taylor’s feature directorial debut, Grier plays a vibrant minister who leads the congregation at Mt. Zion Church of the Holy Ghost, a fictional church set in the made-up town The Glen. Unbeknownst to its members and Grier’s character, the church has been one of the government’s targets in its insidious scheme to hypnotize and control the predominately Black community’s residents via the communion beverage.
Grier’s character enters at a little over an hour into the film, where he begins a sermon about obedience. Taylor says Grier’s first take was a completely unscripted, 10-minute sermon.

At first glance, They Cloned Tyrone seems to find John Boyega on well-trodden ground. For the first 20 minutes of the Netflix release, Boyega’s face never changes from a hardened scowl as his character Fontaine goes through his day. Fontaine’s actions will seem familiar to anyone who’s heard an “urban” narrative, as Hollywood once often called them; Tyrone buys a 40 and some scratch-offs, he beats up a competitor on his corner, and he threatens a pimp who owes him money.
More than the generic constraints of Fontaine’s day, however, viewers may recognize elements of Boyega’s breakout character from more than a decade ago now in the unrepentant drug dealer he plays in Tyrone. Moviegoers first met Boyega as Moses in the British science-fiction comedy Attack the Block (2011), a film directed by Joe Cornish. For nearly four decades, the Big Three networks dominated television, with any attempts at a fourth competitor quickly trounced. However, on October 9, 1986, a fourth network launched and steadily gained affiliates by offering innovative programming, often appealing to a younger demographic.
Fox has been the most successful network beyond the Big Three, despite a somewhat shaky beginning. The network launched with a short-lived late night talk show initially hosted by Joan Rivers, “The Late Show.” Then, beginning in April 1987, Fox gradually rolled out original primetime programming, starting with Sunday night premieres of two shows whose concepts were new to regular network programming. “Married. . .with Children” brought raunch to the family sitcom genre, raising the ire of conservative watchdog groups to the point that demands were made for a boycott; ironically, this actually brought attention to the series, and it achieved a whole new level of success. “The Tracey Ullman Show” delivered...

Lin-Manuel Miranda wants to keep directing movies, but don’t look for him to mount any large-scale spectacles.
“My responsibility as a filmmaker — and I really hope to make more movies — is to make the weird little musicals that no one else can get made,” he told Rosie Perez during an appearance Tuesday at the Tribeca Festival. His 2021 debut as a director, tick … tick … Boom!, was “a really nice size for me,” the Hamilton creator said. “I really love working with actors. I really love unlocking musical storytelling, and that’s the fun part.”
Miranda maintained he “would never” attempt something as lavish as Wicked, the forthcoming Universal adaptation of the long-running Broadway show. Jon M. Chu, a friend as well as the director of the film adaptation of Miranda’s In The Heights, “is going to do something amazing, and I can’t wait to see it,” he said.

Prior to 1999, Jamie Foxx (who is gratefully "feeling blessed" following his recent hospitalization) was best known as a comedian. He came into the public eye in 1991 when he joined the cast of Keenan Ivory Wayans' immensely popular sketch comedy series "In Living Color," and quickly made the leap to films. In Barry Levinson's surreal fantasia "Toys," Foxx appeared as a comic relief soldier. After films like "Booty Call" and "The Players Club," Foxx appeared in his first dramatic role, playing a hotshot football player in Oliver Stone's energetic sports opera "Any Given Sunday." After proving his versatility as a performer, Foxx began attracting the attention of many high-profile directors, and worked with Michael Mann on both "Ali" and the excellent L.A. crime thriller "Collateral."

Tom Shadyac's 1997 comedy film "Liar Liar" had a light supernatural concept: Fletcher Reed, a typical Hollywood Workholic Dad constantly lies to his family and clients in order to succeed in life. As a lawyer, lying is handy. As a father, however, lying gets him in trouble with his five-year-old son, Max (Justin Cooper). As such, the child makes a birthday wish, longing that his dad cannot lie for just one day. The wish comes true.
What follows is a comedic showcase for star Jim Carrey to put his talents for physical comedy on display. The actor hilariously mugs and thrashes about in agony as Fletcher's newfound truthfulness gets him in various amounts of trouble. In one case, he cannot lie to exonerate a dishonest client. In another, he says openly lascivious things to a woman on the elevator. He gets slapped in the face and even arrested for his comments.

Jamie Foxx is an incredibly gifted Academy Award-winning actor with a slew of impressive performances under his belt. The actor appeared in the TV show "In Living Color," Michael Mann's "Ali," "Collateral," and "Miami Vice," and won an Oscar for "Ray." There's seemingly nothing he can't do, which is why I was ecstatic when he landed the role of Electro in 2014's "The Amazing Spider-Man 2."
Foxx was worth every penny.
The comic book epic got bashed by critics upon its release. It was disappointing enough at the box office that Sony scrapped all plans for a follow-up. Thankfully, the movie gods gifted fans "Spider-Man: No Way Home," which brought back Foxx's Electro (and many more past favorites) for more Spidey-punching mayhem. And lucky for me, "No Way Home" makes it easier to pick out a handful of my favorite Foxx as Electro moments.
Be warned: there are many.

In 1999, the majority of the testosterone in the United States congregated in Miami, Florida to film Oliver Stone's "Any Given Sunday." After a pair of commercial disappointments in "Nixon" and "U-Turn," the two-time Oscar-winning director needed a hit, and John Logan's adrenalized football drama was roided-up with box-office potential. Once Stone landed Al Pacino for the role of the embattled head coach, every actor with an athletic physique wanted in.

"Django Unchained", the eighth movie by Quentin Tarantino, wouldn't have been a hit with a different writer-director attached. By that point, Tarantino had become a trusted brand all to himself, and his name alone was enough to sell a film; like a movie about a freed enslaved person set in the 1850s. Sold as an homage to the Spaghetti Westerns of the 1960s and Sergio Corbucci's "Django," in particular, Tarantino himself didn't necessarily think "Django Unchained" fell into quite the same category as those films. "I don't know if 'Django' is a Western proper," he told the New York Times. "It's a Southern. I'm playing western stories in the genre, but with a southern backdrop."
Will Smith was famously in line to play the lead before eventually passing on the role because it wasn't enough of a star vehicle. Smith would have given a fine performance, but there's one problem.

For most of their 21-year marriage, George Stephanopoulos and Ali Wentworth have operated on separate career tracks. He is an Emmy-winning ABC News host and political commentator and she is the “Jerry Maguire” actress-turned-New York Times best-selling author-turned host of the hit iHeardRadio podcast “Go Ask Ali.” But those boundaries crumbled while they were stuck at home together during the Covid pandemic, with the couple deciding to team up on a shared endeavor: the production company BedBy8.
“Let’s not deny that being empty-nesters kind of played a part,” says Wentworth, who is the mother of two adult daughters with Stephanopoulos. “We thought, ‘Wow, we have so many stories to tell.’ And we can sort of stay in our lanes within the company.”
Founded in 2021 with their partner Alyssa Mastromonaco, BedBy8 focuses on scripted TV projects, limited series and documentaries. Two years in, Stephanopoulos and Wentworth have their first BedBy8 credit under their belt,...

The Wayans family is in mourning. The patriarch, Howell Wayans, has died. He was 86.
Marlons Wayans, one of Howell’s 10 famous children, took to Instagram on Saturday and announced the tragic news while also paying tribute to his late father. Marlon recalled a story from his childhood, when he asked his father what he wanted to be when he grew up.
“He simply said ‘I wanted to be a man,'” Wayans wrote in his caption. “I said ‘not a lawyer? A doctor? An actor?’ He said ‘just a man.’ I said ‘but every boy becomes a man.’ Dad said, ‘Not true.’ I asked ‘then what’s a man?’ My Dad said ‘A man takes care of himself and his responsibilities. His family is always First.’ From that day on I wanted to be a Man.'”
