Do we sense some bad blood lingering at Fox News?
With Donald Trump headed to the White House, you’d figure the conservative cable news network would be celebrating this week. But the release of anchor Megyn Kelly‘s new memoir Settle for More, with accusations of sexual harassment against former network chairman Roger Ailes, has pitted some Fox News loyalists against her. And Bill O’Reilly is clear which side he’s on.

According to CBS CEO Les Moonves, there was no shortage of comedians hoping to replace David Letterman as the “Late Show” host, but Stephen Colbert was “the only logical successor.” “Every name in town came up, we got a lot of calls from agents and managers, but the one that stood out amongst all of them was Stephen Colbert,” Moonves said in an interview (above) during “CBS This Morning” on Friday. ”It appeared to us that he was the only logical successor to David. New York — For the second night in a row, superstorm Sandy and its aftermath forced David Letterman to live out that performer's nightmare: Telling jokes to a vacant theater, or as he called it, "a big ol' empty barn."
Letterman hosting the "Late Show" to an unpeopled Ed Sullivan Theater on Tuesday, as he did on Monday, was the oddest sight of the considerable and continuing cultural fallout of the hurricane that left New York institutions like Broadway, Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center no more open for business than the city's damaged subway system.
But the New York entertainment industry was fighting to go on with the show, and none more than several of the city's late-night shows. Though "The Colbert Report" and "The Daily Show" canceled tapings for the second day, the "Late Show," Jimmy Fallon's "Late Night" and a traveling out-of-towner, ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," went ahead with shows Tuesday.

New York — Broadway, Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center all remained dark Tuesday as Superstorm Sandy left the New York entertainment industry fighting to go on with the show – even if it meant performing for empty studios.
That was how David Letterman and Jimmy Fallon taped their late shows Monday night, leading to some remarkably quiet monologues. On Tuesday, as the city took account of the damage wrought by the storm, some late-night shows were moving back into full production, while the aftermath of Sandy continued to cause the cancellations of film premieres, film and TV production and even that most unshakable performer: Bruce Springsteen.

Ben Affleck kicked off his day in NYC with a visit to CBS This Morning's studios. Ben has been keeping busy on the promotional trail in the lead-up to the release of his third directorial project, Argo, on Friday. Charlie Rose interviewed Ben during today's early-morning broadcast, and Ben talked about soliciting advice from fellow actors-turned-directors like Warren Beatty, Kevin Costner, and George Clooney before making the movie, which is based on the 1979 Iran hostage situation. He said the wisest suggestion they shared with him was to be sure to avoid the temptation to just do one take of his own scenes. Last week, Ben premiered the film in La with Jennifer Garner by his side, and he'll be back home later this week to host a special screening of the film with George's producing partner, Grant Heslov. George and Grant were involved in the film from the early...

Maria Shriver took time out for a little pampering on Tuesday. And who can blame her, seeing how Arnold Schwarzenegger has been so vocal lately about the collapse of their marriage while out promoting his new autobiography,Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story? Not surprising, Shriver kept to herself as she made her way out of a Beverly Hills hair salon yesterday. Meanwhile, Schwarzenegger continues to make appearances in support of his book. Last Sunday, he was seen on 60 Minutes, where he expressed hope that he might one day reconcile with Shriver. He also visited both CBS This Morning and The Daily Show With Jon Stewart on Monday and appeared on Piers Morgan Tonight on Tuesday.

Arnold Schwarzenegger was happy to sit down last night with "60 Minutes" and talk about his tell-all memoir, "Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story," discussing everything from his arrival in America to his marriage with American royalty, Maria Shriver, and the child with his housekeeper -- Arnold held nothing back.
However, Shriver is a very different story. She has not spoken out publicly about the end of her marriage, despite offers to do so from everyone from Oprah to her old bosses at NBC.
“We’ll have no comment,” Matthrew Digirolamo, communications director for Maria Shriver told me, making it clear that Shriver would be saying nothing today or in the future about Arnold's new memoir.
“This must be a very painful time for her,” an old NBC colleague of Shriver's tells me. “Maria is a very private person who doesn’t enjoy seeing her personal life on television or in magazines.

New York (AP) — Norah O'Donnell understood the cultural differences that led Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad not to shake her hand before their "CBS This Morning" interview last week, and to request that she not cross her legs. But his references to her as "the lady" were almost too much.
"I had to repeatedly bite my tongue and not say, 'You know, my name is actually Norah O'Donnell,'" she said. "I thought the questions were more important."
Wise decision. It would not have resulted in the kind of publicity a rookie morning-show host needed during her first month on the job. O'Donnell, who jumped to CBS last year after more than a decade at NBC News, replaced Erica Hill within the trio of "CBS This Morning" hosts that also include Charlie Rose and Gayle King.

The morning show makeovers continue.
At the start of the year, CBS jettisoned its "Early Show" format for "CBS This Morning" by retaining Erica Hill and adding Charlie Rose and Gayle King and adopting more of a hard-news approach.
Later, with ABC's "Good Morning America" and NBC's "Today" engaged in their strongest battle for the top ratings slot in almost two decades, "Today" replaced Ann Curry with Savannah Guthrie as Matt Lauer's co-anchor just before the Summer Olympics.
Now change is coming to weekday mornings again. After the conventions, veteran political reporter Norah O'Donnell -- who moved to CBS last summer after 12 years with NBC News -- will inherit Hill's chair at the "CBS This Morning" table alongside Rose and King. To hear the network's executives tell it, it's the right switch at the right time.

Since Phyllis Diller's death Monday at the age of 95, tributes to the beloved stand-up comic have filled the web and the airwaves. Most credit Diller with paving the way for today's most successful female comedians, including but not limited to Joan Rivers, Whoopi Goldberg, Roseanne Barr and Kathy Griffin.
Tuesday on "CBS This Morning," Rivers said of Diller, "She just went out and competed with the men on their turf. And did it brilliantly."
"We lost a comedy legend today. Phyllis Diller was the queen of the one-liners. She was a pioneer," Ellen DeGeneres tweeted Monday, referring to Diller's legendary quips.
Also on Twitter, Roseanne Barr called Diller "a revolutionary woman who inspired me always."
Lena Dunham tweeted simply, "PhyllDill4evr."
But how did Diller herself want to be remembered? In an interview seven years ago with journalist, documentarian and HuffPost blogger Barbara Schroeder, Diller answered that question, "I'd...

Diller died in Los Angeles on Monday at the age of 95. The legendary performer paved the way for female comedians and referred to Rivers as her protégé.
Rivers described Diller as the first female comedian who "just stood up." She added, "She didn't sing, she didn't dance, she just went out and competed with the men on their turf. And did it brilliantly."
Rivers recalled the first time Diller saw her perform. "She saw me first in Greenwich Village and I stank," Rivers said. "I was on the bill with Barbra Streisand...and Phyllis came and sat in the front and laughed, and applauded, and was so generous when she went backstage."
When asked how Diller inspired her, Rivers said she taught her to be "very simple."

Presidential Pictures: Daniel Day-Lewis has mastered a number of difficult personalities over the course of his career, from Bill "The Butcher" Cutting in Martin Scorsese’s Gangs of New York to Daniel Plainview in Paul Thomas Anderson’s There Will Be Blood. For his latest complicated portrayal, the two-time Oscar winner will don the trademark hat and deliberate beard to play Abraham Lincoln in Lincoln, an anticipated presidential biography from director Steven Spielberg. In another shakeup to the "CBS This Morning" lineup, CBS chief White House correspondent Norah O'Donnell is replacing Erica Hill as a co-anchor. Hill and Chris Wragge were named to replace Harry Smith and Maggie Rodriguez in November 2010 as CBS tried to boost ratings for its perpetually third-place "Early Show." Hill remained aboard when CBS revamped again a year later, bringing in Charlie Rose and Gayle King as co-anchors and changing the name of the show to "CBS This Morning." Harvey Weinstein stopped by CBS to talk politics and French cinema on Friday. When "CBS This Morning" host Charlie Rose asked him how many Obama campaign fundraisers he was going to, Weinstein said he would attend as many as possible.
"I think President Obama will win and once people realize Romney's politics for economics are the politics of the past ..." Weinstein said before Rose interrupted him to ask whether Bill Clinton, Hilary Clinton or Obama was "his favorite."
"I have no favorites, it's like the Beatles -- John, Paul, George, Ringo? I like them all," Rose said. "I think I'm pretty close to President Obama, but I'm not going to say that. I'm sure the next time Piers Morgan asks me to host his show again I will ask President Obama to be my guest, and the first question? 'Charlie Rose said we weren't close.'"

“Call Me Maybe” is the gift that keeps on giving. As if it wasn’t enough that the unofficial music video featured Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, and Ashley Tisdale, there are versions from Katy Perry, Harvard’s baseball team, Donald Trump, and even the leader of the free world.
Today brings the total up two more. We have (shirtless!) Abercrombie & Fitch models dancing all over the world, and, well, a sign that the end of this trend is most definitely near: Corgis. Check out their versions — as well as a round-up of some more of our favorites — after the jump.

"2 Broke Girls" star Beth Behrs joined Mo Rocca and Gale King on "CBS This Morning" to chat about the show. The show's season finale will air on Monday, May 7 with guest star Martha Stewart.
Behrs talks all about the show and the real chemistry she and co-star Kat Dennings have and whether or not cupcakes are passe. She also says that Stewart is really funny."(Show creator) Michael Patrick King said it was the first time when he seen me at a table read ever shy away from the dirty stuff. Like my face would get red and nervous sitting next to her because I felt so embarrassed and like we had to be very proper. But she's hilarious."
Martha Stewart, funny? Actually, yes. They've included a clip from the episode. "Her comedic timing blew me away," Behrs says. "She was funny. I was quite impressed." Check out the clip...

An unusually candid Oprah Winfrey told Charlie Rose and Gayle King this morning on CBS that launching the Oprah Winfrey Network was something she wanted to do but “had I known that it was this difficult, I might have done something else.”
“Really?” replied Rose on CBS This Morning. “If you knew it was going to be this difficult, you might have not done it?”
“Oh, absolutely,” Winfrey replied. “I didn’t think it was going to be easy, but I did not know…. If I knew then what I know now, I might have made some different choices.”

Those with long memories will recall that this was the name the network used for its morning show in 1987, when it featured Harry Smith, Kathleen Sullivan, and Mark McEwan. That moniker lasted until 1999. Interesting that there’s no mention of the name’s heritage in CBS’ announcement regarding the program that will replace The Early Show: CBS News has named its new morning broadcast CBS This Morning. The broadcast, hosted by Charlie Rose, Gayle King and Erica Hill, will premiere on Monday, Jan. 9 (7:00-9:00Am, Et/Pt) on the CBS Television Network. Chris Licht, Vice President, Programming, CBS News, is the Executive Producer of CBS This Morning. John Miller will join the broadcast as Senior Correspondent; Rebecca Jarvis will serve as Business and Economics Correspondent; and Jeff Glor will serve as Special Correspondent...
