Unfortunately, Gungrave Season 3's episode 5 "Superior" is a prime example of where the show's third season went wrong. The writing is nonsensical, and it does little to contribute to the overall story.
In this episode, we see Grave beginning his quest, which could have been an exciting and intriguing development. However, the execution falls flat, and the writing leaves much to be desired. The events that transpire feel disconnected from the overarching narrative, and they add little to the viewer's understanding of the world and characters.
Instead of providing meaningful character development or advancing the plot, "Superior" comes across as a filler episode, devoid of substance or purpose. It's disappointing to see a series with so much potential veer off track in this way.
Overall, Gungrave Season 3's episode 5 is a forgettable entry in an otherwise promising show. The lackluster writing and lack of meaningful content make it clear that the series has lost its way. Unless the writing drastically improves, it's difficult to see how the show can recover from this misstep.
