If we were to only describe Tom Cruise with one single word, Daredevil would be the most apt choice. In his decades-long career spanning several action and thrilling flicks, there has hardly been a time when he has not put himself at risk. Whether it is a minor thing like hanging upside down to get his make-up done in Interview with the Vampire or jumping off a cliff multiple times to shoot one of the biggest stunts in cinema’s history, Cruise can do it all no matter how challenging or deadly it might be.

Yet, when it comes to keeping his co-stars safe and secure, the actor is just as caring as he is about getting his stunts done right to the tee. In an interview, his Rock of Ages co-star Julianne Hough revealed how Cruise took care of her during her injury on set.

Tom Cruise worked alongside Julianne Hough for the first time in perhaps one of his most obscure features Rock of Ages. But after Hough sustained an injury for the feature, Cruise stopped the actor from pushing it too far.

Hough looked back fondly on her time with Cruise on the movie Rock of Ages. He starred as aspiring singer Sherrie Christian in the film adaptation to the Broadway musical of the same name. The movie featured an ensemble cast that included Cruise as a fictional rock star in the flick.
Because of the role, Hough had to emulate the performance of a real singer. But this wasn’t new territory for Hough, who had a somewhat similar journey to her Rock of Ages character. She received her big break in the television series Dancing with the Stars.

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jack Reacher’s Alan Ritchson are to co-star in a Christmas movie for Amazon/MGM called The Man With The Bag.
Of all the films Arnold Schwarzenegger starred in across his long career, 1996’s Jingle All The Way was undoubtedly one of them. And, almost 30 years on from that festive comedy, it’s announced that the Austrian Oak is making another Christmas film, this time for Amazon MGM Studios.
It’s called The Man With The Bag, and according to The Hollywood Reporter’s plot summary, sees Santa Claus on the hunt from his stolen, enchanted bag. This leads Santa to “team up with Vance, a reformed thief and denizen of the naughty list” to find it, with Vance’s daughter and a “team of misfit elves” also taken along for the adventure.

Schwarzenegger, who captivated Oscar viewers over the weekend by reuniting with Twins cohort Danny DeVito, stars on the Netflix action-comedy series Fubar, which is set to return for its second season.

A newly released rough mix of “Photograph” from Def Leppard’s archives shows a different side to the Number One rock chart hit. Where the version that came out on Pyromania and dominated rock radio in 1983 finds the band singing “Photograph” and Joe Elliott responding, “I don’t want your … / I don’t need your …” the rough mix has less vocals and more space. It sounds almost like a new wave song with more prominent (and funkier) bass, less reverb, and a lot more jangly guitar in the chorus. The cowbell remains the same.

Def Leppard have announced a 40th anniversary expanded reissue of their seminal 1983 album Pyromania, arriving April 26th.
The legendary UK band is pulling all the stops for the reissue campaign, digging into the archives for previously unreleased demos, outtakes, rough mixes, and live recordings.
The 4-cd/Blu-Ray and 2-lp editions will include the original remastered album as well as these archival recordings, including a rare rough mix of “Photograph” with an unfinished vocal track and a previously “long lost” demo of “No You Can’t Do That” — an outtake and the “11th track” from the Pyromania sessions.
“Rediscovering dusty old cassettes which were brilliantly restored by [executive producer] Ronan [McHugh] and finding the long lost unfinished ’11th track’ was a journey only few of us are lucky enough to take,” remarked singer Joe Elliot in a press release. “What a trip!”

“We are thrilled to be back on the road in 2024 with so many good friends as part of this tour,” Journey said on their website. “No matter which city you come to this will be an amazing night of music!”

The news of Tom Cruise setting a “strategic partnership” with Warner Bros. has certain “Top Gun” fans barrel-rolling out of control. Don’t panic, put on your oxygen mask before you attempt to help others — and definitely don’t jump without a chute, because a third “Top Gun” has been in development for a while now, a source told IndieWire.
“Top Gun: Maverick” screenwriter Ehren Kruger is working on the next film in the franchise, according to Puck News. The threequel-creating installment will reunite Cruise with his “Maverick” co-stars Miles Teller and Glen Powell. Producers Jerry Bruckheimer and David Ellison will be back, and “Top Gun: Maverick” director Joseph Kosinski is also set to return — either as director (again), or at least to produce.
Paramount Pictures declined comment on this story; a spokesperson for “Top Gun” co-producer Skydance did not immediately respond to our requests for comment.

Mission: Impossible star Tom Cruise joins forces with Warner Bros in a partnership that will see him develop big budget films for the studio.
Tom Cruise already has projects underway with Paramount and Universal, but you can now add Warner Bros to the list of studios that have cemented a working relationship with the Top Gun: Maverick star.
The partnership was announced yesterday and contained some interesting nuggets of information as to what the future might hold for the movie star once he’s done making the next Mission: Impossible film.
Cruise’s deal with the studio reportedly gives him the clout to produce theatrical projects for the studio, ranging from original productions to franchise films. It’s worth noting that several of Cruise’s former collaborations with Warner Bros such as Interview With The Vampire, Magnolia, Rock of Ages and Eyes Wide Shut were original films rather than the...

In a coup for Warner Bros Discovery, starting this year the company has struck a strategic pact with Tom Cruise to star in and produce original and franchise theatrical films.
Cruise, whose films have generated close to $13bn at the global box office, and his production company will have offices on the lot in Burbank.
It is understood the superstar can still work with other studios such as Paramount, with whom he has worked extensively on the Mission: Impossible and Top Gun franchises without ever formalising that relationship.

Warner Bros Discovery CEO David Zaslav and the Motion Picture Group’s co-chairs and CEOs Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy have hammered out a new strategic partnership deal with Tom Cruise that takes effect this year.
The $13 billion-grossing star and producer will develop and produce original and franchise theatrical titles which he’ll star in. Cruise and his production company will have an office on the Burbank, CA lot. The last time Cruise starred in a Warner Bros movie was the 2014 sci-fi action title Edge of Tomorrow ($370.5 million global gross), one of eight titles he made with the studio including Rock of Ages, The Last Samurai, Magnolia, Eyes Wide Shut, Interview with the Vampire, Risky Business and The Outsiders.
Note, this isn’t an exclusive deal, as Cruise will continue to work with Paramount, where he’s shooting Mission: Impossible 8, and Universal, where he’s making the $200M shot-in-space movie directed by Doug Liman.

Tom Cruise has his next mission.
The ageless action star signed a new deal to develop and produce theatrical films with Warner Bros. Discovery. These movies will be a mix of original productions and franchise fare and will star Cruise, the company said in a release touting the deal. As part of what is being billed as a new “strategic partnership,” Cruise and his production company will have offices on the Warner Bros. Discovery lot in Burbank.
It’s a coup for Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy, who took over as co-chairs and CEOs of Warner Bros. Tom Cruise has taken a flying leap, though this time not on a motorcycle and off of a cliff. No, Cruise is headed to Burbank as part of a new strategic partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery; he’ll develop, produce, and star in “original and franchise theatrical films” there — and also fly some aircraft in and out of Bob Hope Airport.
Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group co-chairs and CEOs Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy — and Cruise — announced the partnership on Tuesday. Cruise and his production company will even get offices on the Warner Bros Discovery lot.
Cruise’s deal with Warner Bros. — a return, of sorts — does not make him exclusive to the studio. Tom Cruise is setting up shop on the Warner Bros. lot.
In a new strategic partnership that Warner Bros. Discovery chief David Zaslav helped shepherd, Cruise will team with movie studio chiefs Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy in jointly developing and producing original and franchise theatrical films starring the world-famous actor.
Cruise and his production company will have offices on the Wbd lot in Burbank. The pact, which commences this year, isn’t a traditional first-look deal, insiders say.
Luring Cruise into the fold is a coup for Zaslav, Abdy and De Luca, considering he’s one of the last movie stars who carries clout around the world. And it’s especially a coup since he’s otherwise remained a free agent who hasn’t had a formal deal with Paramount, home of his two biggest franchises, Mission: Impossible and Top Gun, since 2006.

Adam Anders has been around the block a couple of times. He was the lead executive music producer on Fox’s musical/comedy/drama series “Glee.” He also served as a producer on “The Prom” for director Ryan Murphy that featured Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman and James Corden for Netflix. He’s a three-time Grammy nominee who has sold over 100 million records and worked with artists ranging from the Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus to Andy Grammer and CeeLo Green. His music has been heard in film productions including “High School Musical,” “The Wedding Planner,” “Captain Underpants” and “Rock of Ages.”
But lately, Anders has been focusing his attention on a different project: “Journey to Bethlehem,” a live-action Christmas musical retelling of the classic story of Mary and Joseph and the birth of Jesus that’s currently playing in theaters in limited release this holiday season. Christmas comes early this year, as “Journey to Bethlehem” puts words (and music) in the mouths of all who bore witness to Jesus’ birth. Some of those tunes — like “Silent Night” and “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel” — will sound familiar enough, though most of the songs — like most of the script — represents a fresh interpretation of believers’ original miracle, courtesy of Adam Anders, making a competent, if undistinguished directorial debut with the least edgy retelling of the nativity story around (which is essentially what the faith-based audience has been asking for).
One half of the duo behind the music for “Glee,” Swedish-born Anders comes to the project after more than two decades of penning and producing songs for boy bands and Disney Channel artists, including the Backstreet Boys (“More Than This”), Nick Lachey and the Jonas Brothers. After London’s Metropolitan Police launched an investigation into Russell Brand last week, the Thames Valley Police is also looking into the matter, it has emerged.
A woman contacted the Thames Valley Police two weeks ago with “new information” in relation to reports of “harassment and stalking,” according to the BBC. The Metropolitan Police had said previously that it had received a “number of allegations of sexual offences.”
Brand, a comedian and actor who has appeared in films including “Rock of Ages” alongside Tom Cruise, was the subject of a lengthy joint investigation by The Times of London, The Sunday Times and Channel 4 documentary strand “Dispatches” which alleged that Brand raped or sexually assaulted four women at the height of his fame. Brand has strongly denied the allegations.
Per the BBC, the woman reported her allegations to Thames Valley Police several times between 2018 and 2022 but no further action was taken.

Russell Brand has published a video across his social media channels in which he preemptively denies a “litany” of allegations about unspecified criminal behavior at the height of his celebrity.
The Forgetting Sarah Marshall star said two UK “mainstream media” publications had sent him notice of their intention to publish stories about his alleged misconduct.
Deadline understands that Channel 4 and Rupert Murdoch-owned newspapers The Times and The Sunday Times are behind the stories.
Brand claimed that the right of reply letters contain “astonishing, rather baroque attacks” on his character, as well as “very serious” criminal allegations about his well-known sex addiction.
“The relationships that I had were absolutely always consensual,” Brand said. “I was always transparent about that then, almost too transparent. And I’m being transparent about it now.”
He claimed that this openness was being “metastasized into something criminal” and suggested that it was a “serious...

Paradigm Talent Agency has hired Chris Till as an agent in their theater literary and content division, Variety has learned exclusively.
The hiring brings Till back to Paradigm, as he previously worked at the agency early in his extensive entertainment career, as he now has over 20 years of industry experience. He previously spent over a decade at CAA before joining Verve in 2020 to help launch that agency’s New York office.
Till will be based in Paradigm’s New York office as well, with a focus on representing writers and directors across theatre, film and television.
“I’ve always thought of Chris as the one that got away,” said Paradigm partner and head of the New York office Jack Tantleff. “He started his career as a young agent at Paradigm, and I have watched as he built his business to become one of the truly bright stars in our industry.

Tobey Maguire is best known to audiences around the world as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the first three adaptations of the comic-book hero’s adventures, but he has had a wide range of acting roles from intense dramas to comedies to even a Western. One of Maguire’s great advantages in getting started was the fact that, from his early days as a child actor, Maguire had a boyish look that allowed him to be cast as characters who were much younger than his own chronological age.
After his breakthrough role in 1997’s “The Ice Storm,” Maguire’s solid work soon came to the attention of Hollywood’s awards groups, and Maguire was honored at the Golden Globes with a Best Actor nomination for 2009’s “Brothers.” In addition, he also received two ensemble nominations from the Screen Actors Guild for his work in the films “The Cider House Rules” and 2003’s “Seabiscuit.

HBO’s upcoming series The Idol has gone through at least one major creative overhaul since it was announced, with co-creator Amy Seimetz leaving the show in April 2022. Euphoria’s Sam Levinson and Abel Tesfaye (The Weeknd) then took over as creators for the series, reshaping it to fit their vision and the version of the show set to premiere June 4, 2023.
We don’t know much about the series, other than HBO’s official logline that reads “After a nervous breakdown derailed Jocelyn’s (Lily-Rose Depp) last tour, she’s determined to claim her rightful status as the greatest and sexiest pop star in America. Her passions are reignited by Tedros (Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye), a nightclub impresario with a sordid past. Will her romantic awakening take her to glorious new heights or the deepest and darkest depths of her soul?”
Many details on The Idol’s characters, including their names,...
