It’s been a long time coming, but a reboot of the 1994 cult classic film The Crow (which was based on the comic book series created by James O’Barr) will finally be making its way out into the world on August 23rd, which is when Lionsgate will be giving the film a theatrical release. With that release date swiftly approaching, we figured we should gather together all the information we have on this movie… and here it is, Everything We Know About The Crow 2024:

Pennywise the Clown is one of actor Bill Skarsgård’s most well-known roles. Reflecting on his portrayal in the It movies, Skarsgård discussed the mixed reception to his character’s initial reveal. The actor shared these thoughts in a recent interview with Esquire, which covered his diverse range of movie roles. Reflecting on the Role Before Skarsgård’s unforgettable turn as Pennywise, Tim Curry famously played the sadistic clown in the 1990 miniseries version of It. Stephen King once remarked about Curry’s casting, saying, There was some doubt about it. He hadn’t played a part like that before. You’ve got to be gutsy...

Picture this: It’s a warm, sunny day and you’re driving around Los Angeles. A car pulls up next to you at an intersection. You look to your right and, um, what’s that? Bill Skarsgård, in self-applied clown makeup, maniacally laughing to himself in the driver’s seat. Sounds terrifying, no? Well, that’s just how the star of Esquire’s latest cover story traveled to his callback for the role of Pennywise in 2017’s It. And it landed him the iconic part in director Andy Muschietti’s horror film. Something mesmerized me, Muschietti recalls as he looks back on Skarsgård’s early audition. One second...

There are a plethora of reasons why the recently released X-Men ‘97 proved to be the kind of stellar success that it quickly became. The animation style, the continuation of the narrative, the quality of it itself, and the way in which it remained true to its roots were bound to impress viewers worldwide.
However, another reason it proved such a stellar watch was down to the kind of tragedies that graced our screen. Fans who have already watched the 10-episode-strong Season 1 will know exactly what we are talking about, especially with respect to Episode 5, Remember It, which we shall surely remember for a long time to come.

As the mastermind behind the Dutton family saga, Yellowstone, Taylor Sheridan embarks on a solitary journey, carving out his empire of episodes at Paramount Network with a hands-on approach that goes against the grain. With an Oscar nomination to his name, his ethic is clear: his stories, be they Yellowstone, 1883, or 1923, thrive on character-driven narratives and have deeply ingrained personal authenticity—a rarity in the industry.
Last year, THR claimed that Sheridan’s approach had produced an astounding “60 scripts for Yellowstone”. Chris McCarthy, president and CEO of Paramount Media Networks, said this accomplishment is the result of a passion that cannot be taught but must be marveled at. But without the teamwork that characterizes TV’s creative process, is Sheridan’s unique vision viable?

Apparently, Sheridan would rather defy the WGA’s efforts to persuade studios to hire a minimum number of writers for each scripted program.

The list of movies is only guaranteed to be available until the end of June, but until then Apple TV+ customers can watch some true classics.
Apple TV+ is continuing to step out of its wheelhouse and try something new in 2024. At the start of March, the streamer imported a wide selection of movies from various Hollywood studios, marking the first time in its history that Apple TV+ had added on a substantial number of non-original titles. Those films were only available for a limited time, some as short as a few weeks, but it proved popular enough for the platform to add more in April. Now, as first reported by 9to5 Mac, Apple TV+ is rolling out another wave of licensed films as it tries to determine which ones its audience are responding to the most.

The latest episode of Last Week Tonight is being blocked by broadcasters in India—just as host John Oliver predicted.
“Meaningful criticism of [Prime Minister Narendra] Modi is scarce on TV in India,” Oliver told viewers during Sunday’s episode of Last Week Tonight, which focused largely on India’s contentious elections. His monologue called out the many acts of censorship enacted by Modi, the “uncritical, fawning praise” the leader receives from the media, and the proliferation of anti-Muslim extremism under his regime.
Oliver’s coverage has now become part of that scarcity, as the entire Last Week Tonight episode has been made unavailable to viewers in India.
According to The Independent, the June 2 episode is not currently available on JioCinema, Last Week Tonight‘s streaming partner in India. Even on YouTube, the video has been blocked to viewers attempting to watch the episode from India.

Et tu, Dr. Sullivan? The fifth episode of Pretty Little Liars: Summer School, now streaming on Max, confirms the girls’ suspicions about their smooth-talking therapist — one that bumps her to the top of their suspect list.
Following last week’s bombshell that Dr. Sullivan treated Rose Waters, it was also revealed that the good (or not-so-good) doc has been keeping detailed records of her sessions with the girls. Annabeth Gish’s character is apparently writing a book about adolescent survivors of traumatic events, for which she’s also using information she acquired while treating the original Liars back in the day.

Few big new studio wide releases, yes, but Viggo Mortensen’s latest is on 700 screens, plus limited openings for Chris Wilcha’s Flipside, Judd Apatow EP, and Spanish animated, Oscar-nominated Robot Dreams from Neon. Bleecker Street’s family drama Ezra and IFC Films’ arthouse slasher In A Violent Nature are technically wide but both well under 1,500 screens.
Viggo Mortensen directed, wrote and stars in Western The Dead Don’t Hurt presented by Shout! Studios on 730 screens. The story of star-crossed lovers on the western U.S. frontier in the 1860s sees Vivienne Le Coudy (Vicky Krieps), a fiercely independent woman, settle in Nevada with Danish immigrant Holger Olsen (Mortensen). But the outbreak of the Civil War separates them as Olsen goes to fight with the Union army, leaving Vivienne alone in a town full of corrupt officials. Premiered in Toronto, see Deadline review. It’s Mortensen’s second outing behind the camera since 2020’s Falling.

Based on the terrifying novel by Stephen King, "It" and Skarsgård's ability to move his eyes independently is most certainly responsible for increased levels of coulrophobia around the globe. The otherworldly creature known as It comes in many forms, but Pennywise the Clown is undoubtedly his most famous. Since arriving in the town of Derry, Maine, It has been devouring the citizens for hundreds of years, resting for 27 years between feeding cycles.

Deadline reports that Bill Skarsgård is set to reprise his role of Pennywise the clown for the upcoming It prequel series Welcome to Derry (which may end up only being a working title).
In addition to starring in the It prequel series, Bill Skarsgård will also executive produce. When asked last year, the actor said he wasn’t involved in the series, so I think fans are relieved that he will be lending his bloodthirsty giggle to the proceedings after all. Skarsgård’s take on Pennywise was instantly iconic in my eyes, so it was hard to imagine the series either skipping the character altogether or recasting. I’m excited to see him come back.
Andy Muschietti, who directed the two It movies, developed the series alongside producers Barbara Muschietti, Jason Fuchs, Brad Caleb Kane, David Coatsworth, Shelley Meals, Roy Lee, and Dan Lin. The story comes from Andy Muschietti,...

Bill Skarsgård, known for enticing viewers with his chilling performance in It, continued to exhibit his remarkable versatility with a recent string of compelling roles. In 2022, he enthralled us as Keith in Zach Cregger’s Barbarian and seamlessly stepped into the shoes of a villain in Chad Stahelski’s John Wick: Chapter 4.
With a mastery that thrills, the actor, 33, then carried the action-packed narrative in Moritz Mohr’s Boy Kills World. Now, Skarsgård is set to dazzle us once again as he embodies the enigmatic Count Orlok in Robert Eggers’ highly anticipated gothic horror, Nosferatu. Ryan Gosling’s The Fall Guy seems to have had a rough run at the box office. Based on the TV show of the same name, the film followed Gosling as a stuntman who gets involved in a conspiracy involving the lead actor of a film directed by his ex-girlfriend, played by Emily Blunt. The action comedy was directed by David Leitch, who last helmed Bullet Train.
Gosling’s film reportedly only earned a meager $145 million against a $127 million budget, making it a box office bomb. While the film received positive responses from fans and critics, author Stephen King seemed to have had a mixed reaction to the film. He reportedly disagreed with a review of the film that called it ‘great fun’.

Henry Cavill’s love for video games is pretty well documented, as the actor almost missed out on playing Superman in Zack Snyder’s Dceu following his commitment to World of Warcraft. But his tenure as the Man of Steel wasn’t the lone huge gig that pushed Cavill to the top, as the Argylle star also got to headline Geralt in the adaptation of one of his favorite games, The Witcher.
With the actor now set to star and produce an adaptation of Warhammer 40000, fans have been long imploring for a Cavill-led World of Warcraft, which he deemed one of his favorites. And the recent concept trailer further proves why the former DC star is perfect for the job.

One of the most anticipated prequel films of all time has to be George Miller‘s Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. After the initial announcement back in 2010, the anticipation for the film only grew after the release of Mad Max: Fury Road in 2015, and nearly 9 years later the film we have all been waiting for is finally here and I am really happy to say that it will exceed everyone’s expectations.
Based on the characters from Mad Max: Fury Road by Miller, the prequel film is directed by Miller from a screenplay co-written by Nico Lathouris and Miller and it follows the story of a young Furiosa as she is snatched from Green Place of Many Mothers and handed over to the great biker horde’s warlord Dementus as they make their way through the Wasteland and come across the Citadel ruled by Immortan Joe. As early as 2018 Jamaican superstar Shenseea was telling interviewers “By next year I want to be international, and when I say that, I don’t mean just as a dancehall artiste, but an international pop star.” Just last week Shenseea wondered aloud to Spotify if she should start classifying her sound as “dancehall pop” or “reggae pop.” Her second album, Never Gets Late Here, boldly continues on that long road to be the first Jamaican-born Main Pop Girl since Grace Jones and, thankfully, her attempts are mostly seamless.

Artificial Intelligence is taking over the world slowly but surely. Many people have started losing their jobs because they are being replaced left and right by AI systems which seem to do hours of work in a few seconds. Needless to say, AI is as much a bane as it is a boon. Steven Spielberg was one of the first to give an insight into a world with advanced AI in his 2001 film A.I. Artificial Intelligence.

In a recent interview, Malcolm X colleagues Spike Lee and Giancarlo Esposito opened up about artificial intelligence and the danger it poses to both the film industry and the world. While Spike Lee admitted that A.I. Artificial Intelligence was his introduction to AI, Giancarlo Esposito was firm in his belief that no matter how much technology advances, you will never be able to replace the “soulfulness” of human beings.

Stephen King is an interesting follow on the site formerly known as Twitter. When not posting about politics or his latest literary find, he’s ranting about the state of the world and making observations that position him as a sort of elder statesman in the horror community. A recent tweet by the Master of Horror mentions a bygone era of salacious magazines that harkens back to his early career: “Hey, do you guys remember that supermarket tabloid that used to have stories about BatBoy? Man, I loved that shit.”
The world-famous author is likely referencing publications like The National Enquirer and similar periodicals that used to grab eyes in checkout lanes with claims of Elvis sightings and alien encounters. Frequently inspired by the world around him, King has his own literary brand of tabloid journalism with Inside View, a rag that has been appearing in his work for decades.

The year of 2022 was extremely fruitful for remarkable horror films, as we saw such genre’s gems as Pearl, Barbarian, Men, and Scream. All these films demonstrated the current trend that implies moving away from the jumpscares. Nevertheless, they make a movie kind of nostalgic and appealing for today's veterans of the genre.
Luckily, there was a movie, originally set for release on Paramount+, that became a worldwide commercial success just because of the proper use of this horror mechanic. Two years after its release, it’s now conquering Netflix’s global chart.
Its plot revolves around Dr. Rose Cotter, a therapist who witnesses a bizarre suicide of a patient and later has the visions of it tormenting her. She can’t explain the horrifying hallucinations she is seeing, and that’s why she starts strongly believing it is a supernatural entity from another world that takes more and more control over her life.

Stephen King may be known for epic novels like It and The Stand, but many Constant Readers first met the Master of Horror through his short fiction. Beginning with the iconic 1978 collection Night Shift, the best-selling author has been dazzling us for decades with short stories overflowing with sickening gore, fantastical creatures, meticulous violence, and transcendent joy. King follows suit in You Like It Darker, a jaw-dropping collection of twelve terrifying tales, five of them previously unpublished. Inspired by Leonard Cohen’s “You Want It Darker,” the outstanding tome dives head-first into the brutal randomness of pain and destruction – a “lullaby for suffering” only King can deliver.
The collection kicks off with “Two Talented Bastids,” a poignant story about an elderly author and his less talented son. Laird Carmody is a small-town Mainer who prizes his quiet life among the locals – a thinly veiled reference to King himself. The sprawling...

As far as individual authors go, Stephen King is certainly in the top of the list of authors whose works have been adapted. He is right there with Agatha Christie, Edgar Allan Poe, Arthur Conan Doyle, and other authors whose works have been adapted often and in many forms. But unlike the aforementioned authors, King’s adaptations are usually original, while the other authors have seen their works adapted and remade more than once. In light of that fact, we can confirm that King’s story, “The Monkey,” had been adapted into a film this spring and the movie was presented to buyers at Cannes this year!
Knowing how popular King’s adaptations are, it was a sure thing that someone would buy the movie, and as it happens, Neon managed to nab the distribution rights for the upcoming movie and they have confirmed that a 2025 release date is currently planned.

If everything wasn’t of the greatest caliber, a show like Game of Thrones would not have reached such heights. The two areas where the play truly excelled were the costume and wig designs. Hence, its prequel House of the Dragon including some of the best TV costumes and wigs ever produced shouldn’t come as a surprise. And Emma D’Arcy, who plays Rhaenyra, absolutely loves them.

The Blacks and Greens, who formed the once powerful House of the Dragon, split apart and are taking up positions on opposing sides of the battleground. And Emma D’Arcy’s Rhaenyra, leading the Blacks, will be seen in a completely different form.
Rhaenyra’s sense of betrayal in House of the Dragon Season 2
After witnessing a series of deaths and betrayals, Rhaenyra is in a deep state of mourning. D’Arcy, in a recent interview with the Es magazine, states, “Those who’ve watched the first series will know that we left Rhaenyra having just received the news of her son’s murder. We pick up in series two about two weeks later, so that loss remains very raw.

Stephen King’s impact on the cinema industry is hard to overestimate, as the movies adapted from his brilliant novels have brought billions to the filmmakers. However, what if we try to imagine a biographical film about this writer and his creative process?
Here are 4 actors who could potentially play King in a biopic, according to Reddit.
1. Bill Hader
This actor is presumably the one who comes first in mind in this respect, as he doesn’t only look very much like the writer, but is also familiar with his horror universe as he played the adult Richie Tozier in It Chapter Two (2019).
“Hader would be perfect not just because of his looks, but because Sk is a genuinely funny guy Irl,” admits Redditor @thewoodlayer. Indeed, the actor’s comedy skills would be of much value here too.
2. Rainn Wilson
