Lisa the Veterinarian is a mediocre Simpsons episode with a lackluster storyline and a lot of jokes that hit and miss. It has its moments that really worked, the opening scene at the indoor water park was very fun, including a quote from Chief Wiggum that had me in stitches, and Michael York provides excellent voice-over as Dr. Lionel Budgie, playing a character that is completely different to his previous appearance on the show. The main story simply did not take any advantage of the potential it had, Lisa pursuing a career as a dentist seemed like an exciting episode for the show to do, but it simply falls flat, it goes through the motions, never do anything truly interesting, never taking this idea to the next level. As for the side story, it does not work one bit, it has some tasteless humour, such as Marge watching blood and body parts fall from a ceiling, seeing her as a crime scene cleaner was a story that no one wanted to see, especially when there's a much better episode with her as a cop. It has some good parts, but Lisa the Veterinarian does not turn out merely as well as it could have.
Lisa discovers her calling after saving a raccoon, meanwhile, Marge moonlights as a crime scene cleaner.
