Chefs (2015)
Fantastic Series - I Was Mesmerized
Chefs is one of my favorite series of all time with tremendous dialog, unique plot twists, passionate actors, caring characters, and an interesting setting with the tone of a noir classic. Add villains you love to hate for entertainment galore! I was so hooked that I watched some episodes two to three times. I'm glad the MHz channel on TV Plus aired this French treasure with English subtitles!
Murdoch Mysteries: Sir. Sir? Sir!!! (2018)
I loved it! My mom didn't like it, but she laughed a lot!
Clever and fun episode! (And it does tie in with the historical passage of Halley's Comet over Toronto in 1910.) The eerie theme music was fun, and I laughed at the new meaning of "buggalugs" and at Murdoch's zombie-like attempt to romance Julia. It was hilarious to see the expressions and robotic movements of the cast members who were turned into a combination of Stepford wives and zombies. The normally brash Brackenreid and Higgins were especially funny with their "Stepford-wife" fatuous smiles. George Crabtree was perfect as the good-hearted guy trying desperately to save all of Toronto from the alien invaders. I do wish the awkward ending hadn't left the viewers dangling, but otherwise it was a creative and fun episode. I'm always impressed by how the writers keep the original plots coming - even after a dozen seasons! THANKS!
