The Big Brunch (2022)
Truly a must-see!
I've watched many cooking and baking competitions, but none quite like this. From the diversity of contests to the mix of judges and format, this show delivered. It gave the thrills and fast-pace of a cooking competition while showcasing heart. Learning about passionately unique stories of the competitors, the creation of their own little family, and the genuine care the judges had for these chefs all came together in a beautiful way. It's crazy to feel a bit moved by a cooking competition, but here we are. If you've not yet seen this show, get on it. It's well-worth the investment. Can't wait for a season 2 and beyond! P. S. Dan Levy KNOWS good TV!
Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend (2022)
Worth the watch!
New format, new Iron chefs, and new judges. A lot of freshness going on and it was very entertaining. The previous series was great, but I really enjoyed this new direction and new perspectives. Really hope this continues beyond a first season!
Masters of the Universe: Revelation (2021)
Don't let the negative reviews influence you!
Really unsure why folks are bent out of shape. I watched this show growing up religiously and owned every single toy produced. The biggest gripe I've seen is that He-Man is only in the first episode. I get it, but let's remember that the season is short (only 5 episodes) and there is a huge conflict to be resolved. I, for one, am glad that it wasn't resolved in one episode like it was in the 80's or even over one season. I'm pretty pumped to see what happens next, especially after the finale. The gripes I have are Teela being played by Sarah Michelle Gellar. I like her a lot as an actress, but her voice does not at all Alvin with Teela's status or role in MOTU. I also don't care for Orio's voice too much. But, totally spot-on eith Skeletor, Man at Arms, and especially, Evil Lyn! Give it a chance, folks!
Luca (2021)
Fantastic film!
Wonderful lessons to be learned, beautiful animation, and an endearing story. Made me chuckle and tear up. A must-see!
Thunder Force (2021)
Love this cast...
...but didn't love the movie. Asinine story and not much considering it's a superhero movie. Waste of a lot of great talent!
Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021)
Fantastic in every way!
The story arcs, character building, and cinematography all made this such an engaging and entertaining film. It had more rawness to it vs. the very "comic booky" feel of the original version. The action and CGI wowed me and the character development created a few emotional moments for me. So well done and I agree with others who say to absolutely have Zack helm all of DC's films moving forward. Bravo!!
Sahara (2017)
Neither fun nor funny
Love a good animated film...also hopeful because this is a Netflix film. Sadly, I wasn't entertained in the least. Their adventure wasn't fun and moments that were supposed to be funny just weren't.
