Gladiator (1992)
An Underrated boxing film!!
Gladiator is a sports drama film directed by Rowdy Herrington. The film stars Cuba Gooding Jr., James Marshall, Late Brian Dennehy, Cara Buono, Jon Seda and Late Robert Loggia.
Two teenagers, who get linked to illegitimate underground boxing for different reasons, befriend each other as they get used by a boxing promoter. But fate ends up putting them in the same ring.
The film may prove to be a surprise factor for many of the viewers who haven't seen or heard this film. Despite of being a predictable plot and equally predictable execution the film turns to be a surprisingly entertaining film.
The plot of the film is predictable and so as the execution but still the film is entertaining and will keep you engaged throughout.
The screenplay of the film is superb. The film has some of the good boxing sequences. Acting in the film is top notch. Cuba Gooding and Brian Dennehy were the most impressive. Climax of the film is also very much predictable but still shot nicely. A good underrated boxing film.
West Side Story (2021)
Still better then 1961 film!!
West Side Story is a musical romantic drama film directed by Steven Spielberg. The film stars Ansel Elgort, Rachel Zegler, Ariana DeBose, David Alvarez, Mike Faist, and Rita Moreno.
The film is the second feature-length adaptation of the 1957 stage musical of the same name.
A young man affiliated with a Caucasian gang falls in love with the sister of a Puerto Rican gangster. As a result, they face many challenges in their quest to unite.
I have seen the 1961 original musical and didn't liked that film much but this film is slightly better then the original although this film also has the same common problem as the original one, the film gets boring, is very slow and lethargic although the screenplay and cinematography is still better then the 1961 film.
The acting in the film is good and apart from Rachel Zegler who looked little immature or lost for this character everyone was spot on. The screenplay of the film is good and the songs are also good.
Cinematography of the film is good. For me little better then the 1961 film.
West Side Story (1961)
Masterpiece for many but not for me!!
West Side Story is a musical romantic drama film directed by Late Robert Wise and Late Jerome Robbins. The film stars Late Natalie Wood, Richard Beymer, Russ Tamblyn, Rita Moreno, and George Chakiris.
Lovers Maria and Tony find themselves entangled in the bitter battle between their gangster families. Knowing this feud will lead to disastrous consequences, Maria sends Tony to end the fight.
I have seen many critics and film buff calling West Side Story a masterpiece and one of the greatest film ever made but there are few of the viewers who didn't liked this masterpiece and i am one of them.
The makers decides to turn Romeo and Juliet into a musical which has couple of gangs going after each other in what can be called as the war of the turf or existence. The film might have been liked and it was indeed liked by the mass of the audience back then but for me it was a boring, lethargic and the film gets too long for the kind of plot the film was made on.
The music of the film is good and probably the strongest aspect of the film and was the backbone of the film. Acting was good and allmost all of the character were impressive in their respective characters.
Screenplay of the film is slow and the viewers might get boring. Cinematography of the film is good though.
To sum up with i have to admit that this film will surely be a masterpiece for many but not for me.
Some Like It Hot (1959)

Two male musicians flee the state disguised as women in an all-female band after witnessing a murder. They thinks that they have avoided trouble but their destiny has another plans.
Wow what a funny, bone tickling feel good funny film. The premise of the film might not be that fresh but the execution is surely top notch. The film will not only keep you engaged but also will keep a smile on your face with the dose of laughter in between. The film can surely be called as pure unadulterated fun.
The acting in the film is superb and for me it was Jack Lemmon who was probably the best of them all. Tony Curtis was also spot on with his acting. Marilyn Monroe looked pretty and cute in the role of an innocent ukulele player and singer. Joe E. Brown performance works as an icing on the cake. Rest of the cast was also good.
Screenplay of the film is gripping and funny and hilarious and climax was superb. Can surely be watched many times
One of the best feel good comedy film.
O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000)

After escaping prison, three convicts starts a journey to find a hidden treasure. As lawmen pursue them, a new companion and a brush with antisocial elements turn their lives around.
I Would like to keep the review short and have to admit that this film is one of the best comedies I've seen recently. This film cemented my belief in the talent of George Clooney as he was superb in his character. John Turturro was indeed a surprise package specially for me. Tim Blake Nelson, John Goodman and Late Charles Durning were equally impressive in their respective characters. Chris Thomas King and Holly Hunter were also good.
Screenplay of the film is superb and will keep you engaged. The film really shows how to a satirical comedy is made.
I enjoyed this film to the core and will recommend every lover of satirical comedy films. A Must watch.
Scream VI (2023)
Dear Makers, please use a stop button!!
Scream VI is a slasher film directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. The film has an ensemble cast.
The film is the sixth installment in the Scream film series.
Four survivors of the Ghostface murders leave Woodsboro behind for a fresh start in New York City. However, they soon find themselves in a fight for their lives when a new killer embarks on a bloody rampage.
Someone has to be courageous to stand up and tell the makers in their face that they gonna have to use the pause button and stop making crap in the name of a franchise. The film was boring and disappointing with nothing new or exciting. It seems that some of the characters Like, Gale, Chad, Kirby and Mindy has been blessed to be immortal as despite of multiple attacks on them they always survives. The killing of Anika also doesn't make any sense.
The plot of the film was bad and execution was terrible. The film starts nicely but soon looses the steam as the film progresses. Screenplay of the film is average and the viewers might feel bore after sometime. The climax and the big reveal never excites.
Acting was the other major problem with the film as most of the actors were just trying too hard to look frightened or scared, there are lots of foolish scenes which am avoiding sharing as i didn't wish to give more spoilers.
BGM was good but gets too loud at places. Cinematography was good.
Overall a disappointment for the Fan of Scream Series.
Oldboy (2013)
A Dull, rather sluggish remake of the original masterpiece!!
Oldboy is a 2013 American neo-noir action thriller film directed by Spike Lee. The film stars Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Olsen, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Imperioli and Sharlto Copley.
The film is a remake of the 2003 South Korean film of the same name.
A man is kidnapped and held captive for 20 years and released mysteriously and he sets out on a mission to find the culprits and the reason behind keeping him captive.
The only problem with this film is people comparing the film with the original masterpiece and getting disappointed. If you haven't seen the original film you might like this film.
The acting department of the film is a mixed bag. Josh Brolin did a fantastic job and was spot on with his character. Elizabeth Olsen was just upto the mark in her character. Sharlto Copley was a huge disappointment and Samuel L. Jackson was royally wasted, I still didn't understand why he was doing in this film.
Screenplay of the film was slow paced and climax of the film didn't make the impact as the original. BGM was good though so does cinematography.
To rate the film this is a dull, sluggish remake of the original and In my opinion some films should never be remade, Never.
Hurricane (2018)
A Wasted Opportunity!!
Hurricane (a.k.a Hurricane: 303 Squadron and Mission of Honor)is a biographical war film directed by David Blair. The film stars Iwan Rheon, with Milo Gibson, Stefanie Martini, Marcin Dorocinski, Krystof Hadek and Christopher Jaciow.
Polish pilots escape from Europe following Germany's invasion of Poland. They decide to join the Royal Air Force and fight the Battle of Britain.
This film is a prime example of how to waste or spoil a potential film. The film has terrible CGI, the flying scenes are shot really poor. The characters were unbelievable and without proper introduction of the characters it was really difficult to get connected to the viewers. The romantic scenes were also unnecessarily put in the film.
Acting in the film is good and allmost all the characters were impressive. Screenplay of the film is average and could've been more gripping. Cinematography is average and climax of the film is average.
The film has all the potential to be a great film but this film indeed is a wasted opportunity.
tick, tick...BOOM! (2021)
Take a Bow Andrew Garfield!!
Tick, Tick... Boom! (also stylized as tick, tick... BOOM!) is a biographical musical film directed by Lin-Manuel Miranda. The film stars Andrew Garfield, Robin de Jesús, Alexandra Shipp, Joshua Henry, Judith Light, and Vanessa Hudgens.
Based on the autobiographical musical by playwright Jonathan Larson. It's the story of an aspiring composer in New York City who is worried he made the wrong career choice, whilst navigating the pressures of love and friendship.
The film should be best remembered for the awesome acting by Garfield, atleast i'll appreciate this film for Garfield only, it's always difficult to work in any biographical film as the viewers will relate you with the characters himself and might be prejudiced but in this case Garfield was absolutely spot on.
Screenplay of the film i felt was average as the film gets too slow in between and could've been trimmed. Cinematography is good and climax is also good.
For me the film wasn't that great but it's only and only Andrew Garfield due to which i'll be giving some positive reviews for the film.
A Clockwork Orange (1971)
A masterpiece from the legend the "Stanley Kubrick"
A Clockwork Orange is a dystopian crime film directed by Late Stanley Kubrick. The film stars Malcolm McDowell.
The film is based on Late Anthony Burgess's 1962 novel of the same name.
A psychopathic delinquent, is imprisoned for murder and rape. In order to reduce his sentence, he volunteers for an experimental therapy conducted by the government, but it doesn't goes as expected.
There are certain films that are made so greatly that an average human like me cannot write a review for such a masterpiece from the legend itself Stanley Kubrick.
Acting is the most strongest aspect of the film. The film indeed has lots of violence and nudity but at no point you'll find them forced upon. Screenplay is great, climax is superb.
A masterpiece and a must watch.
Dai si hing (2018)
This film deserves much better rating!!
Big Brother is an action drama film directed by Kam Ka-wai and starring Donnie Yen and Joe Chen.
A retired soldier, becomes teacher for a class full of mischievous students. Despite his lack of experience, he uses an unconventional approach to improve their lives.
Sometime i really wonder the rating system of IMDb. I've often came across lots of films which deserves good rating but has either got average rating or bad rating and same is the case with this film. The film has got an average rating but the film is amazing, there are indeed some miss-able minor flaws and some may feel that the end of the film could've been slightly better as it seems that the ending was rushed but still the film doesn't deserves an average rating.
The plot of the film is good and the execution is terrific, the film has a great screenplay and action scenes are terrific. There are many emotional scenes in the film which may shed tears from your eyes. The climax of the film is good although could've been better with some better and proper ending.
A great film on the relationship between students and teacher and describes the emotional and psychological relationship between them beautifully.
Can be watched once.
Scream (2022)
Could've been much much better.
Scream is a slasher horror film directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett.
The film stars an ensemble cast of The film stars Melissa Barrera, Kyle Gallner, Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Dylan Minnette, Jenna Ortega, Jack Quaid, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sonia Ammar, Marley Shelton, Skeet Ulrich, Roger L. Jackson, Heather Matarazzo, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, and Neve Campbell.
Sam Carpenter returns to Woodsboro after her sister gets attacked by the Ghostface. She approaches Dewey Riley to help catch the killer, who warns Sidney and Gale.
The film has some potential and had a decent start but gets monotonous as the film progresses. The people just getting killed as if they wants to get killed and the motive behind the killing looks unrealistic and doesn't convinces me at all.
There are so much goofs in the film such as patients getting attacked in the hospital with no doctor, nurses or hospital staff is really hard to digest. Also it seems that Gale and Sidney are immortal. The murder of Judy also doesn't gets digested as a police officer gets kills in a broad daylight and there are no witnesses.
The film also lacks decent character development. The climax of the film is average and could've decent, it seems that the climax is way too stretched and the antagonist talked while trying to kill Sam, Gale Sidney which they never does while killing another characters.
Overall this film is undoubtedly a wasted opportunity. Can be watched once.
S. Darko (2009)
S. Darko is not a sequel to Donnie Darko, it's an insult!!

Strange events plague a young woman (Daveigh Chase) and her best friend (Briana Evigan) when their car breaks down on a cross-country road trip.
It is the sequel to the 2001 cult film Donnie Darko.
There is a famous saying that some of the masterpieces should never be touched, remaked or should be make sequel of and this film proves the point.
The plot of the film is average and the execution is terrible, the film nowhere close gives any resemblance to the original and you'll start feeling disconnected from the film just after 15 minutes of the start of the film.
The acting in the film is also terrible and apart from a very handful actors like James Lafferty and Ed Westwick most of the characters irritates specially Briana Evigan.
Screenplay of the film is also terrible and nowhere you'll feel connected to the film. Climax is equally pathetic. I will not at all recommend you to torture yourself with this film.

British student Michael likes Stephanie. However, things unfold in an unexpected way when he encounters cliques that prevent them from dating.
The film is not as bad as projected and can be a decent one time watch. The film is not as good as the original film but still the film has its moments. If you can erase the memories of original Grease while watching this film you might like this film. Some of the songs of the film are good too.
The plot of the film is good but the execution is average. The film has some good scenes but some of the scenes are too predictable. The acting by the lead pair was commendable but somewhere some of the support cast falters & irritates.
Screenplay of the film is decent but sometime the film looks too stretched. Overall if you'll watch the film without the memory of Grease you'll surely like the film.

The plot of the film is based on revenge and the execution is good. The film will keep you engaged throughout.

Middle-class mother Farhana takes a call centre job due to her financial situation. Although this gives her freedom, it also leads her into a web of danger.
This film has an entertaining plot but due to novice and immature approach the film turns out to be some family drama or some episode of any crime TV show.
The start of the film is good and the first part of the film is very impressive and the film will give you a glimpse of a great thriller film in making but as the film progresses and gets towards it's climax the film starts turning into some random family drama film.
Acting in the film is average. Selvaraghavan was impressive till the time he was on phone. Jithan Ramesh was impressive. Aishwarya Rajesh tried too hard but failed to impress.
Screenplay of the film is also bad and it seems that the film was unnecessarily stretched. The climax of the film is disappointing.
Overall a promising plot ruined because of immature approach.

While vacationing in Australia, Danny and Sandy indulge in a passionate love affair with each other. They part ways believing they will not see each other again but fate has other plans.
One of the most wonderful film which aged like a wine. The film has great storyline, great execution, some of the greatest music and a stellar cast which never disappoints.
The chemistry between the lead cast is also one of the strongest aspect of the film.

I didn't have much expectations from the film but the film surprisingly turned out to be a super entertaining film.
The plot of the film is good and the execution is good, the film is slow paced but still will keep you engaged and tightens grip on the viewers as the film progresses.
Acting in the film is good and Tom Selleck was really impressive and is very well supported by the support cast. The climax of the film is good and gives a great closure to the film.
An entertaining film.

This modern day version of Mughal-e-Azam offers nothing new. The film has cliched scenes, predictable storyline, predictable screenplay and mediocre dialogues.
Acting in the film is decent to average with Sunil Dutt Pran and Anita Raaj were impressive whereas Anil Kapoor though a talented star looked nervous and disconnected so as Poonam Dhillon.
Screenplay of the film is mediocre and predictable and climax is also bad. Music of the film is forgettable.
The film offers nothing new and can be avoided.

Predictable, Cliched yet an entertaining action-packed rollercoaster ride!!

A Capitol policeman who gets rejected for a Secret Service job takes his daughter on a tour of the White House, things go awry and the president's life is jeopardized.
White House Down has got average reviews whereas some of the viewers appreciating the action, stunts and fights scenes where some of them were criticizing the length of the film or it's resemblance with Olympus Has Fallen. I have seen the film and on the one hand the film surely impresses in it's high octane action scenes however the length of the film could've been trimmed.
The plot of the film is decent and execution is also decent, the film has some high octane stunts, gun fights, explosions, crashes backed by some comic relief and will be liked by hardcore action lovers having said that the film indeed has some cliched and predictable scenes and even the twists or the little mystery the film offers is predictable.

Ravi gets married to the daughter of wealthy Jagannath. Despite being successful, Ravi never stops respecting Sheikhu who helped him during his tough time, which makes Jagannath unhappy.
There was a time when Late Yash Chopra used to promote his assistants my producing film for them and letting them direct and this is one such film. The film has some good actors such as Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Madan Puri and Raj Kiran whereas newcomer like Swaroop Sampat also featured in the film.
The plot of the film is average and we have seen many films on the plot, the execution of the film is average and nowhere the film has the potential to keep you engaged however there are few scenes which were shot nicely and looked impressive.
Acting in the film is decent to average with Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Madan Puri and Raj Kiran were impressive whereas Swaroop Sampat looked nervous and somewhat looked misfit. Bharat Kapoor also looked misfit as the son of Kulbhushan Kharbanda. Javed Khan Amrohi was also the part of the film in an important role but he has done such roles many times and was average.
The music of the songs are forgettable and apart from Tumhari Palkon ki none of the song was worth remembering. Screenplay of the film is average and the climax shows that the director was keen to finish the film early and hurriedly.
Overall an average one time watch.

At the end of her book tour, Sidney visits her home town after ten long years. As she catches up with old friends, her return not only brings back memories but also beckons the return of Ghostface.
After watching this film i wasn't very impressed with the film as i found this film little stupid although the film is fairly watchable and entertaining in places but majorly predictable.
The film seems to be the compilation of the first film and even the climax of the film doesn't shocks too much. The film has some jump scares out of which some favors in the film and some looked too cliched.
The screenplay of the film is average to decent and the film runs out of the fuel in the middle although manages to get back on the track in the end. The climax could be shocking for some although i have almost guessed the climax and the killers.
Acting in the film is average and the main leads were doing the same things that they did in the past 3 films, out of the new stars apart from Emma Roberts none of the actor were impressive.
Overall a fairly decent film but predictable which looks like a compilation of first film. Few of the viewers might like the film and few might find the film stereotyped and cliched.

Wow what a film. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this film and this is one of the best directed courtroom drama films. The film has twists and turns in regularly and has one of the most shocking climax. The film has some of the great acting and Edward Norton is just superb and very impressive in his acting debut.
The plot of the film is good and the execution is superb. The film is very captivating and tense and will keep you glued throughout. I have seen lots of mystery films and is able to guess the twists but couldn't guess what is coming ahead in this film.
The acting in the film is top notch be it Richard Gere, Laura Linney or Edward Norton. Laura Linney was so superb that at one point of time in the film you'll start hating her, you'll surely love Richard Gere and sometime you'll feel sorry or helpless for him and this is the victory of the actors. Edward Norton was just superb and in some of the scenes he completely outshines Richard Gere.
Screenplay of the film is gripping and the climax is probably one of the most shocking climax. BGM and cinematography of the film is superb.
If you're willing to watch an excellent courtroom drama mystery thriller film then this is the film for you. A must watch.
