Who Is Erin Carter? (2023)
6.5 out of 10... watchable but irritating
So, it was watchable and pretty predictable. There were so many things that griped me though. Such as it being set in Spain, Erin speaks no Spanish at all, her husband is Spanish and friends are Spanish, yet 99% of the spoken language is English. Jordi only starts to have some kind of character development at episode 5, before that he hovers around the house while Erin goes missing and gets beaten up non stop, coming home bruised and cut and he questions nothing. Erin gets away with everything! A man gets mowed down outside the pharmacy after she follows him and she's on cctv as the last person seeing him and having an altercation, yet you hear nothing of that again.. steals a police car after assaulting them, gets chased down by them until they crash and most likely are seriously injured and nothing heard again.. oh and she stole a child and ran away with stolen gold.. the list goes on.
With all that that being said, I found it watchable but the writing was lazy and unbelievable.
Jack Frost (1998)
One of my childhood favourites
I was 10 years old when this movie came out and it was one of my favourites. Its a great father and son story, yes it's sad about him dying and all but let's not dwell on that. I can talk from experience of being a child and enjoying the movie rather than the adults reviewing on here slating it. A good family movie and still one I enjoy today.
White Lines (2020)
Awful casting
A bunch of mainly southern actors doing awful awful mancunian accents. The characters aren't really relatable or likeable. The storyline and the shooting of the show starts off so promising and then they introduce the annoying characters with their dodgy accents. The storyline is all over as well. I wouldn't bother.
Locke & Key (2020)
Everyone is a critic nowadays.
I'd give a 7.5. Easy watching, kept me interested. Much better than I thought it'd be. Kept me entertained for a few days as a time filler between better shows, wouldn't rave about it but is was good.
Way too many low ratings on here from these "experts"
Pokémon: Detective Pikachu (2019)
Everything you can want from a light hearted movie. Especially as a pokemon fan
What's with the people saying iT nEeDeD a BeTtEr StOrY!? For a start, other than the adult fans who grew up with pokemon, this film was made mainly for children so how complexed do you want the storyline to be and secondly its a pokemon movie fgs. It was funny, light hearted, action packed and not long. It was much better than I expected it to be after initially seeing the trailer. I'm rating it a 9/10 because I left the cinema with a smile on my face.
Titans (2018)
LOVED IT!! DC finally delivers.
Loved Titans, it was gritty and gripping. After watching so many DC let downs over the last few years, I wasn't overly optimistic and after so many terrible Marvel spin offs such as inhumans. I was gripped from episode one. The character development and back stories were very well done. Good casting, good filming, editing and effects. Binged the whole series in a day, now I have to wait a year!?
Sex Education (2019)
Good watch, funny at times, too American.
Initially for the first episode or two I couldn't get over the over Americanised everything!! Why is the school like an American one, why are there cool gangs and Jock style characters? Also the 80s style was just odd. Once past that the story lines were funny and characters were likable, but as for people talking about how diverse this was and a breath of fresh air, skins did it all over 10 years ago. However, I really enjoyed it.
