After finishing 'Runaways,' I come away from it wishing it had instead been an excellent miniseries (which it had potential for), rather than the set-up for a show with multiple seasons. The finale, especially, left a lot to be desired, namely unanswered questions (for viewers without comic knowledge) about Karolina, about Gert's telepathic link with "Lace," about Molly, etc. And much of the drama in the show--instead of being propelled by (in this case, stereotypical) adolescence--could've been propelled by the story around the teens' unique abilities/circumstances. There isn't enough focus on how each teen's abilities can or should play into the bigger picture. Or, how each one could individually help drive the overall story forward.
Marvel does much better work with contained story arcs than cliffhangers, and 'Runaways' is no exception.
