Drishyam 2 ( 2021 ) Movie Review
21 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
A bit far stretched story (Everything is falling in place for George to pull it off but that happens only for him and not for the Police)

Too much build up in the first half, unnecessary story line (2nd daughter's friend) , unrealistic events ( installing microphones in someone's home in almost all the places ). Unnecessary charter plug ins (Ganesh Kumar's police role)

Screenplay could have done more justice to Meena's character as she fails to put the emotional trauma she underwent (when she herself speaks about it ) over the last 6 years out on the screen. The icing on the cake were those fake eyelashes, obvious make up and wig and drama like dialogue delivery,

The director lost a good 60 seconds and if not more of precious screen time with his ill-conceived idea of additionally rewarding the producer with a role and that time could have been well invested somewhere else in the screenplay to further the cause of the movie.

Illogical and unrealistic climax take viewers IQ for granted (that George could cause a DNA mismatch from a medical facility which are normally under security and CCTV surveillance 24x7),

Taking too much cinematic liberty, the director is trying to shove the unconvincing premise into the viewers' throat and that actually weakens the plot completely.

BGM was pretty ordinary and the makers could roped in someone best in the market - Sushin Shyam of Kumbalangi Nights as an example.

Slowly cooked with sudden unexpected twist at the end lacks in the aromatic taste and deliciousness and all other things the part one had and made our brains release a decent quantity of dopamine. Drishyam 1 over 2, any day!
