There are way too many plotholes to ignore, huge plotholes. It is the run-of-the-mill mother with checkered past with chiild trying to lead a normal life when her past catches up. But the the lack of writing it would have served better as a straight comedy, which allows the viewer to not take it serious and not care about the plotholes. But it switches to straight drama/thriller and wants you to take it serious and turn your brain off when it doesn't.
You also have the issue of no one is really likeable, which may work in a movie, but in a series that is 8-10 hours long, no one want to watch something that long and not like anyone.
